Hi all,
disclaimer: I’m relatively new to racing and not a native speaker. I’ve looked through this forum but haven’t found what I’m looking for, yet. Apologies if this is a duplicate.
Recently, I was in a race (lots of fun!) where a video was uploaded afterwards and I noticed a discrepancy between what was visible “on the road” and in the “current position” and simply would like to understand more of the underlying mechanics out of curiosity.
Here are two successive frames from the video. In the first frame, the rider in second place is listed at position 3/27.
In the following frame, the position jumps to 1/27 while there is still a rider ahead.
However, notice that the list of riders matches what’s shown on the road.
Just 34 meters later, when the riders are crossing the finish line (0m), the riders are shown in the same order. Again, successive frames from the video.
The race resulted in N. De Rocker (the stronger sprinter!
) winning with 3 milliseconds ahead of T. Strazny. ![]()

I can only guess that there must be some delay or difference between the visuals of what happend on the road and how the server came to the results. Of course, I would like to rely on what the game shows me when I’m deep in the red sprinting for the finish line. ![]()
Does anyone know what might have happened for the results and the live positions and visuals not matching?
Thanks in advance!
Tim
