Is anyone using this bike with zwift. It has FTMS so it should adjust resistance automatically. Thinking of going this route with controllers. 16 levels of adjustment not ideal, but it looks like other bikes have that level of adjustment.
I ride upright and I don’t think the zwift ride will raise that handle bar high enough for me. It seems like you would set your saddle for you leg length, then be stuck with the max handlebar adjustment.
You’re apparently the first person to mention this device on the forums so I’m guessing the user population is extremely small. That bike is not supported by Zwift, which does not mean it won’t work, but there are loads of random bikes out there that claim to support FTMS and nevertheless work very poorly with Zwift. When that happens your recourse is to the manufacturer of the bike. It is unlikely that Zwift will make any effort to resolve compatibility problems with it. If you really need it, I suggest trying it out before buying since products like that tend to be hard to return. If you’re satisfied with their returns process then maybe OK but to me it seems risky. You’re better off with a very mainstream trainer that is on their list of compatible equipment, and even some of those are not great. If you get fitted for a bicycle at a bike shop and put it on a Kickr Core, for example, that would be a much better solution and there would be a lot of help available if you run into problems.
I have fused disks in my back, hoping a recumbent would work. This is the only FTMS I have seen. I understand shifting and the controls would not work. I guess it is wrong to assume Zwift is fully FTMS compatible? It should be able to control resistance. The manufacturer says it does, for what that is worth. I do have another option, that Watt Proton looks like the handle bars will not be a problem.
The Proton is certainly a safer choice. Zwift is compatible with FTMS, but there are loads of bikes out there that claim to support FTMS, and claim to work with Zwift, but when you get the bike, maybe it works, maybe it sort of works but kind of sucks, maybe it really does not work, regardless of what the manufacturer claims. The safe place to be is with mainstream equipment that Zwift says is compatible.
