Play controllers turning on randomly

Updated to firmware 1.2.1 a few days ago, now the controllers randomly turn on from time to time when no-one is near them.

Not hugely worrying but has used 20% of battery since the upgrade where I charged to 100% after completing the upgrade.

I did a firmware update yesterday and today in a group ride the buttons of the right controller didn’t work anymore. I didn’t have had such issues so far.

I started with a RoboPacer ride and changed to the group ride start pen after 10 min.I think the buttons still worked during the RoboPacer ride, but not right away as I was used to. Play Controller started to work ca. 30 s after the start of the ride, which was new and odd too.

Hey @Thomas_Nuthmann

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had with your Zwift Play controllers. That sounds like they might not have fully paired before you started riding, if it happens again double check that they are showing on the pairing screen. If they are and you’re still having issues My suggestion is to contact Zwift Support so that we can take a look into the reporting on your account and see if there’s something that’s causing it.

Hi @Gareth_Hay_TT1,

That’s not an issue that I’ve seen reported anywhere, but it might have something to do with the update overwriting previous information. Could you try performing a hard reset on the Zwift play for me? To do so, you just need to press and hold the big Z button for 30 seconds. once that’s done go ahead and turn them off, then on, and retry the firmware update if needed.

If you’re still having issues after those steps please reach out to Zwift Support and we can investigate a little further.
