Pace Partner Toggling?

That’s it!
I didn’t want to use the names because I didn’t want to single some one out.
Do the runners see the cycling comments too?
I don’t run on Zwift but I could see how runners in a group or a race would prefer not to see a bunch of cycling comments.

Runners see cyclist comments and cyclists can also see runner comments. Supposedly there will be more options for pace partners coming in the summer…

Strava just draws a straight, unmeasured, line between the stop and start of the pause (teleport). I have multiple MTB parks within a few minutes drive of each other and will pause my ride, drive to another park, and resume the ride. It doesn’t count the line as miles ridden or time so no weird speeds to screw up your averages. One would think Zwift could do some sort of time warp graphic on their animated map when you jump from one PP to another.

If there is such concern about how a ride on strava looks like, why isn’t there Zwift’s own map on Strava long ago? Why are we apparently riding somewhere in the South Pacific, although we are riding virtually?

I totally agree with Daren.

Not exactly the same as being asked but I have recently thought that it would be good to be able to swap pace partner without exiting the game. Using the companion app I can select a scheduled ride and transfer to that as the ride starts. Zwift could have the exact same feature to chose a pace partner. I understand that this doesn’t solve the issue of separate rides being recorded but would be a step forward.
My issue is more that the pace change between C and B is quite a step for me personally, but I can do bursts of say 20mins with B after warming up with C, then returning back to C after the 20 min workout.
Hope this makes sense.

What if there was a 10 -15 mile route that 4 pacers, A/B/C/D did same route and you could jump on or off pace as they went by? Pretty simple solution seems…

For weeks ive been wishing it could be possible to switch pace partner without leaving the ride and resetting ride distance, especially when riding the longer distances. On a ride the other day several other riders mentioned the same thing. It would be useful to be able to join slower pp to warm up then hop over to faster one for ride and back to slower one for spin down without the hassle of rebooting everytime. Views !

They do and sometimes it results in entertaining banter when the runners fly past riders on the steep parts of ADZ. Normally the runners I’ve seen say very little.

But just occasionally some do and one knew just the right thing to say at the right time while I was suffering badly.

It’s not ideal, it causes a bit of chaos when this happens.

Cycling and typing is hard.

Running and typing is an awful lot harder, IMHO.

Even using voice to text is not that easy when running as, AFAIK, you still have to be able to hit the correct places on the keyboard twice.

I’ll throw this out there in case others are also interested…

Would love to be able to switch rides/events and Pacebots during the same ride, that is, without that resulting in multiple separate files/rides being saved (automatically or manually).

I ride the bots a lot and often times, when I have a long endurance ride, to keep things interesting while working multiple zones, I start with an easier bot (warmup), then jump to a slightly faster one, from there to a spicy one for a bit then back to that second one, etc. The inconvenience is that I end up with 3-4 different ride files- having to stop ride, save, and start another one.

Similarly for events, it would be nice to chose if you want to save rides as separate files or not.

Would be great to have a feature that allows a rider to jump to different events or at least from pace bot to pace bot within the same ride/file.

I would like to be able to join a pace partner from the companion app similar to how you join events. You would be able to set a standard timer countdown (say 15 minutes to the start of the join). Start riding on any world or route, select the preferred PP and the countdown comes on the screen. As the countdown ends you get transported to the PP from your current ride or there could be the option to join earlier (similar to going to an event holding pen but instead going directly to the PP). This gives you a chance to warm up before you join the PP without having to logout and join manually.

Could you use the search for Zwifter function- select a pace partner and then tap a button to join them. Your existing ride is automatically ended and saved and a new one is started with the new pace parter.

It would be nice if you could “follow” them so they would be easier to find in the list of riders.

You can follow pace partners. The easiest way to find on them is by looking at the riders you rode with on a pace partner ride.

HI, I can find them but unfortunately they don’t respond to my follow requests.

No response should be necessary. Their profiles aren’t private so you just follow them and it’s done.

Paul is correct. I just had no problem following Maria.

I think you can follow the Robocops that are leading the Tour de Zwift rides, but not the regular Robocops.
