OnePlus 5T doesn't sync with my sensor

Hi!

I have a Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll 2 trainer with the inRide 2 sensor. I downloaded Zwift on my OnePlus 5T (Oxygen OS 10.0.1) but I can’t seem to connect the trainer with my phone. I tried it with my laptop and it works seamlessly but since I have the trainer setup in the basement with no poweroutlets, I’d rather use my phone. The sensor transmits data via Bluetooth only.

I have tried searching forum archives and contacted support for Zwift and Kinetic. I’ve even reset the sensor and reinstalled Zwift. I’ve made sure I don’t have the sensor paired with my phone or any apps open before trying to connect with Zwift. The KineticFit app works fine and I can do the trainer calibration. Moreover, I can use the Zwift Companion app on my phone when I run Zwift on my laptop. Thus the problem must be in the Bluetooth connection between my phone and Zwift.

Any and all advice are welcome.

Regards, Olli

On Android, you must give the Zwift app permissions to Locations in order for it to use the Bluetooth radio.

I’m not familiar with the Oxygen OS, but assuming it’s similar to stock Android?
Verify in the OS Settings > Apps > Zwift > Permissions > Locations that you’ve allowed both Locations permissions and Bluetooth permissions.

Let us know if that fixes it for you?

I indeed have Zwift on the allowed list for location, so that’s unfortunately not the issue.

Hi, the Zwift app needs permission to use location on your phone but not only that, you must pick “only when the app is running” and not “always.”

This may resolve the issue.

I changed the permission from always to only when running, but sadly it didnt help at all.
