Just started happening today, use the same setup daily, what’s going in.
Using companion app, latest version firmware verified for Zwift hub. Load the Zwift app, connect to hub like normal everything green and connected across the board. Pick a workout, load in, start peddling, nothing happens. No cadence data or power data. Go to Bluetooth menu, everything is green but white letters saying no signal show up on power and cadence, then everything.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the companion app, no change. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Zwift game app, no change.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I see your server log history and have a question about your workflow.
Q1: Is the Companion app installed on the same Pixel 8 Pro as the main Zwift app? Most folks are running the app on a PC / Mac / AppleTV / tablet and run the Companion app on a separate smartphone. That’s the intended usage.
Q2: Is it possible your Zwift Hub (maybe also Click) are still paired to the Companion app from the firmware update check? If those devices are still bonded to the Companion app - even on the same Pixel 8 Pro - that may be messing things up for the main game app.
Given the two situations above - maybe try uninstalling the Companion app, reboot your phone, and see if simplifying solves the weirdness?
Sidebar - the server logs show a series of logins to the main app with no corresponding log outs. That can happen if you’re only swiping the Zwift app into the background, where it remains running
Especially true f you run the main app on a smartphone or tablet - 1) always end your session by saving-and-existing (or trashing-and-exiting), and 2) force-close your app for good measure. Force-closing is not the same as backgrounding an app. Please also do this, and let us know if that solves it?
Thank you! You are correct, I’m running everything from my phone. Q2 - that is very possible, I thought that was how it was supposed to run. Great to know! I’ll uninstall the companion app and report back. Thank you!!
