No decline on kickr bike

Hi ,

So I have a wahoo kickr bike and when i go downhill my bike does not move, it moves when going uphill.

I have trainer difficulty set at 100% originally I thought it was the bike but i have had a replacement since and that does the same

Note that the Kickrbikes only tilt 50% of the grade downwards; that’s a configuration on the side of Zwift we cannot change.

So even at 100% TD, a 10% descent will only be 5% on the Kickrbike.
(50% TD, a 10% would be only 2.5%)

This was just someone’s weird design choice.

If you’re experiencing it going up, then it should be going down as well; albeit at said 50%, not the full 100% match like inclines.

I’ve just noticed the same. It simply does not go into negative values, i.e. does not tilt forward anymore, only backward, and it’s not levelled when at 0% in Zwift. It used to tilt forward. Couldn’t say when this behaviour changed.
TD is set at 100%.

Hi @Euwan_Harrison_RHINO

Thanks for sharing your inquiry on Zwift. This is Haziel from Zwift support. I wanted to jump to this thread and share some steps that might help you.

First, please ensure that your Kickr Bike is set to unlocked mode. I know it might seem simple, but when it’s in locked mode, it only responds to manual inputs, which can limit your experience. Please check this article from Wahoo for more information.

Also, make sure you’re riding in a mode that allows for automatic tilting. If you’re using ERG mode (which is available during workouts), the bike may not simulate tilting, since ERG mode focuses on maintaining a power target instead of adjusting resistance for incline changes.

Lastly, it can be helpful to restart your equipment or follow a reset sequence. Sometimes, a quick power cycle can resolve temporary glitches and make a big difference, and get you back on track.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or if there’s anything else we can do to support you. You can always contact us at Support@zwift.com. We’re here for you!

Hi Haziel,

Thanks for your comments. Bike is not locked or in erg mode, otherwise it wouldn’t tilt at all. It gets rebooted everyday. Running latest firmware 2.2.22 and gradient feel is set to 100%.
Last but not least, I gave myWoosh a spin and noticed the same behavior.
I believe this is a Wahoo problem and not Zwift. I raised a ticket with them. I’ll comment back if solved.
