New swifter with no idea. Impressed by ease of connectivity and getting started. But don’t feel I can increase my wattage unless I up my gears manually. It doesn’t feel as though the kickr is is able to respond unless I manually change gears
Do you have the trainer paired for Resistance? Can you share a screenshot of the pairing screen? That’s something Zwift support could see in your logs as well
Please excuse my lack of knowledge
I do not know if i am in ERG mode … I don’t know what it means
Also I am unaware if I have the trainer in resistance mode
How can I tell?
Sorry
ERG mode is available only when you are doing a structured workout. It also requires pairing the trainer for Resistance on the pairing screen. If you share a screen shot of the pairing screen, that would reveal whether it’s paired correctly or not. Or if you contact support, they can tell you.
OK you have a Kickr Core, you’re pairing it correctly, and you are not using virtual shifting since you have nothing paired on the Controls tile. Next thing you should do is shut down Zwift, run the Wahoo app, verify that the trainer firmware is up to date, and do a spindown calibration to prove that the trainer is working OK.
When everything is working properly, the spindown calibration should not be necessary but it’s a good way to prove that the trainer works. You need to make sure it’s not paired to anything else such as Zwift on some other device. If you have Zwift installed on more than one device, pick one and remove it from any others. Force quit the Zwift app before using the Wahoo app.
You have a normal multi-gear cassette on the trainer and you don’t have a Click controller, right? That is fine, just making sure you are not trying to use the single speed cog without pairing a virtual shifting device.
Hi @Kim_Shaw welcome to Zwift forums and Zwift more generally.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Unlike the others here who are not Zwift employees, I can see your server logs. One thing I see is that you’re using an iPad to run the Zwift app. I’d recommend doing these steps to run Zwift problem-free each time you ride:
Save-and-exit (or trash-and-exit) each session.
Force-quit the Zwift app to shut it down completely. Here’s how. That’s different than simply swiping the app into the background, which leaves it running and can lead to a lot of weird issues.
Hope that helps! This is a great community with lots of friendly expert Zwifters willing to help others. Glad to see you dropped by.
