Hi,
My wife made an account for Zwift today. New to cycling, have only done a handful of rides on MyWhoosh. She seems to be forced into category A even though we have set her FTP to 130. Any idea about how to fix this? I do not recall having this issue when I started Zwifting, I’m barely category C. We are using the same AppleTv.
We haven’t created an account on Zwiftpower for her.
Category enforcement is based on PRs set in all activities and is not related to your FTP setting. Some common reasons why people unexpectedly find themselves in a higher category are lowering their weight in any activity, or sharing an account with a stronger rider and adjusting the rider weight between activities. A trainer malfunction can also do it.
You can find the PRs on your profile on my.zwift.com. That information is private so I can’t look at it unless you choose to post some screenshots. Look on the right side of the profile under Fitness. With that information I can probably tell you why the rider is in a certain category by checking the rider weight from various PRs and comparing it to the documentation.
She needs to ride first. No data = A cat.
Good point, if she hasn’t completed a ~2km activity in the last 90 days that would also do it.
You were completely right, after the first race we do now se that she can pick other categories Thx!
It didn’t actually even have to be a race. Do the Flat Route intro ride and you’ll have a category, I think. (That should be more than long enough)
