More flatter courses

I’m asking and recommending more routes like Tempus Fugit in Watopia that have relatively minimal climbing. I’ve about worn that one out using it for recovery rides, and was wanting other, similar rides for recovery and occasional speedwork. I’m not super big on major climbs, but do enjoy some of the rolling routes. Two or three of the ones in France are particular favorites. But as an older rider (74), I need the ability to mix recovery routes with ones that are more challenging. So far, and I’ve now been using Zwift for 1.5 years, Tempus Fugit is the only route that I’ve found that really meets what I’m looking for. There are a couple others that kinda do, but let’s be honest, most of the routes are really not designed for recovery riding. Thanks for considering and providing recommendations for courses I might have overlooked.

Fan flats on Richmond?

You can also do part of Tempus then do the southern coast and then loop back at the roundabout where The Grade climb starts. That isn’t a route and probably won’t ever become one, but it’s about as long and flat as possible.

Any route can be flat if you use the “free ride” part of a workout:

Just create a workout and use the Free ride option:

Make the block as long as necessary. Zwift Insider says about Free Ride:

Free ride just delivers constant resistance… basically like riding on flat ground. It lets you set your effort level by pedaling faster and/or shifting. But it doesn’t simulate gradients in game.

The above quoted from Zwift Insider post.

I kind of doubt we will ever see any more very flat routes like Tempus Fugit or Fan Flats, I suspect everything in future - if there are new routes - will be “flat” like NYC, ie, small rolling hills.

You can flatten the feel of any route by moving the Trainer Difficulty setting to zero, all the way to the left. This is similar to Chris’s suggestion but doesn’t require being in a workout. You’ll slow down on the climbs but your legs will not feel any difference. To avoid a lot of time spent creeping up hills like a snail, you might choose from the mostly-flat routes like Tick Tock or Watopia’s Waistband or Coast Crusher. Much of the Neokyo portion of Makuri Islands is quite flat. I spend lots of time with Trainer Difficulty turned off or set very low so I can just pick a gear and a cadence and ride steady. You can even adjust it in the middle of a ride without stopping.
