macOS: why a Terminal window at startup?

Hi - since one of the recent Zwift updates on my MacBook Air (macOS Monterey 12.3), I’ve seen a new behavior whenever Zwift launches - a Terminal window opens up and runs a lengthy script (initial part included below). Why is this happening, and how do you make it stop? IMHO, an end user should never be exposed to a Terminal window - not only is it annoying, it opens the possibility of a user mucking up something in their system.

Thanks,
Barry

Hi @Barry_Smith1 welcome to Zwift forums

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Just noticed your thread and looked into your server logs to see what might have triggered the terminal window. The day before you posted your question, it looks like the Zwift launcher app was updated to the latest version 1.1.1.

The installation of the launcher app would have triggered the terminal window. Now that Launcher 1.1.1 is installed - has the terminal window stopped appearing?

Hey @shooj, i have the same issue months later.
When i open Zwift, i always have to log in with password (no options to stay logged in) and then terminal starts pushing code through the syntax. Stays open the whole ride and when i close the app, its still there. Every day the same. Any ideas?

Have you already tried reinstalling Zwift?

i have the same issue now.

That sounds like you are running the Zwift app directly instead of the launcher app. The launcher app is named “Zwift” (aka, /Applications/Zwift.app). The app itself is named “ZwiftApp” or “ZwiftAppSilicon” depending on your hardware and lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Zwift

Make sure you’re running the launcher.
