Low XP with ramping up/down

I was doing a workout and noticed I was getting low levels of XP when I did a block of ramp up or ramp down workouts (see screenshots below - 43 XP for 4 minutes of no ramping in zone 1, 30 XP for a 5 minute ramp up that went from 2 to 5 and 29 XP for a 5 minute ramp down that went from zone 5 to zone 2).
We all want to gain levels and get more stuff but unfortunately these kind of structured workouts are slowing down the leveling process, which is a discredit to the profession cyclists and coaches that spent their time designing the workouts for us.

It’s not just ramp-up/ramp-down. I did a Recovery workout and ended up getting less XP than I would have gotten if I just free-rode the same route/distance in the same amount of time. So now it’s back to the old-school method of a paper workout and just hitting my numbers on recovery rides

Edited my previous comment after looking at it further

can’t say i’m familiar with workouts but I can’t see anything wrong here

4 minute block should roughly be 10 xp per min so around 43 looks right.
ramp segments are about 5-6XP per minute so for 5 minutes 29 also looks right.

Overall it probably does average out less than a free ride although strange first i’ve seen complaints on this

You could also run the workout on a cycling computer, smart watch, or workout app, no paper required. That device can operate ERG mode while you free ride in Zwift if you want.

True, but not as much fun, and I actually like having to think about “hold your power, cadence and HR”.

Thank you for all the comments and possible work around solutions.
I do feel like the most appropriate fix is having Zwift adjust the ramp up/down and warm up/cooldown XP to be the same as the unchanged segment’s.
Hopefully this gets recognized as a “bug” that can corrected at their next updated.
