Hi so I’ve updated my zwift hub to 5.2.2 which is running with the cog v1.
When I started cycling I noticed the resistance was really low cadence is super high had to go all the way up to gear 19 to feel the same resistance as my usual gear 8.
I adjusted the trainer difficulty to max but this hasn’t had any effect.
I don’t know what’s up with the trainer but I can tell you that it would not make any sense for Trainer Difficulty to affect it since that only scales the gradient sent to the trainer. On flat roads it is normal for that to do nothing.
There is a document that describes how the auto-calibration process is triggered, so you should review this and make sure you are riding in a way that makes it happen: Zwift Hub Auto Calibration
There is no manual calibration option for the Zwift Hub anymore so that’s the only way to make it happen, and you won’t know if it happens unless you feel a change.
Appreciate the response Paul, ill give this a go though i think I tried this already. Only used my trainer a handful of times so pretty sure the trainer is okay.
The suggestion to increase difficulty was from zwift themselves.
I’ve had the same trouble losing resistance, virtual gear selection missing from screen, finished the ride, (route of the week) Switched offApple TV App,restarted and selected another ride, worked ok,the Update could have something to do with it.
It’s a reasonable suggestion to check if you feel resistance changes on hills or nothing at all, but there has to be a hill for it to do anything.
Also if you are using a normal bicycle on the trainer (not a Zwift Ride frame) then you could also put a cassette on the trainer instead of the Cog, do not pair any Zwift controls, and see if the trainer behaves differently when virtual shifting is not enabled.
Hi @Mo_M
Shuij at Zwift HQ here. I also have a Zwift Hub on firmware v 5.2.2, and have not noticed any difference.
I see that you have contact our Support Team offline. I’ve left a note asking them to continue troubleshooting with you - for one on one troubleshooting where we can look at log files and such - that’s better handled via email. There is a much larger Support team working via email than there is working this forum.
