Both yesterday and today I became " Billy no mates" soon after joining a robopacer via teleport. At least 20 minutes all alone when my solo warmup showed plenty of other riders as they did again eventually today only after I detoured via u-turn.
No change in setup at home. IOS iPad Pro, no companion app.
Yesterday I lost the accumulated total mileage (and factory tour points) and 4.1 miles of my total “vanished” because I didn’t think to only save the ride when other riders were visible. The saved mileage was based on exactly one hour of riding which I am assuming is some sort of auto save.
I have contacted Zwift support. Any hive mind thoughts?

That means your device running Zwift lost network connectivity to their backend servers. The problem could be anywhere between the device and their equipment. Home network problems are a likely cause but not the only possible reason.
Thank you Paul. The surprising bit is that the connection only drops when I join a robopacer!

The other thing that can happen when you join a pacer group is you may suddenly have a lot more riders on the screen. This can dramatically increase the CPU demands of the game, so if the system is struggling to handle that load, all manner of bad things can happen.
Uploading a log file to zwiftalizer.com can reveal more details about what happened, like if network disconnects occurred, the level of crowding, changes in frame rates that can point to performance problems. You could also try rebooting the tablet to see if that frees up some resources.
Thank you again Paul. I assumed as much about Power demands on my iPad/network with 100+ riders in the group.
I will experiment. I have asked Zwift to add the 21 miles to my totals but not holding out too much hope. Very much a first world problem !
Thank you for your speedy input as ever.
