Very easy to press the down arrow on the Zwift controller accidentally given where it is positioned on the D pad and then you are kicked out the route. Brutal when 8 laps into the PRL……
It serves no purpose on routes so should be disabled or moved several layers into a menu somewhere where it can’t be activated by leaning on the d pad
You have to hold it down, not just a single press… and there is a graphic on screen when holding it down that you are initiating a u turn. Seems pretty fool proof to me.
I disagree. You can turn on and off the controllers when needed. If you arent going to pay attention to the game, maybe turn them off while you watch the other screen?
Only ever use U-Turn in free ride - why would you use it during a route as you would lose your progress data and will not get the badge ?? Doesn’t make sense to enable it so should be disabled like during a race / group workout.
Will have to agree to disagree then. Shouldn’t have to disable it to work around a problem - it’s a hassle and can be easily fixed by moving u turn away from the physical buttons.
I think (happy to be corrected, been a while since I’ve tried), if you set up a meetup with a route, it’ll prevent you from u-turning (or accidentally switching off route at a junction) until the meetup distance / time is completed. (There may be the downside of having the giant yellow beacon over your head for the whole time)
I like having the u-turn when riding routes, especially ones that end on a short climb, once I get the route badge I u-turn to get the bonus downhill mileage
Since it can also happen with manual turns instead of changing the u-turn button it would be better if Zwift had a “stay locked on route” type check box when selecting a route to prevent this.
