Left Click Shifter disconnecting

Converted my Neo2TTacx to the new click shifter which worked perfectly for several months. I’m paired with my IPhone companion app and an Apple TV used strictly for Zwift. Recently the shifters started disconnecting during the ride but reconnect a few seconds after touching the shift button. That degraded into fully disconnecting during the ride or just not pairing at all. I read the trouble shooting steps and updated the software for the Tacx and both shifters. They would pair up and work for a bit then disconnect whenever I touched the left downshift button. I could upshift but not downshift. I can re-pair the cshifters during the ride but they disconnect . Anyway seems I should consider going back to conventional shifting , this is very frustrating.

Already replaced the batteries?

Hi @T_Dunscombe

This is Haziel from Zwift Support. I noticed you’re connecting through the Zwift Companion app on your iPhone with Apple TV, and that’s definitely relevant here. It might be worth checking out the article on Issues with Zwift Companion App, since some of the steps there have helped others stabilize their setup.

The fact that the shifters reconnect briefly and then drop again, especially when you hit the left downshift, suggests either a possible battery contact issue. Have you tried replacing the batteries in both shifters? A weak battery or poor contact can cause intermittent drops that look like software disconnects. If you’ve already swapped them, let us know. It’s as simple as reseating the battery to ensure a solid connection.

I did swap out the left battery. I noticed the battery compartment does not hold the battery snugly but did get it to stay in. This seems to be a design flaw and I assume others are having similar issues. I updated both shifters, left showed 100% charged and the right 80%. I will take the left apart again try to reinstall.
