Latest version very unstable on Mac

(Jeff Warncke) #1

Crashing every 3 minutes or so, not showing other riders as of this morning’s update.

On the PC the screen stutters for me ever 10 or 20 seconds. No idea what is going on as it never did this before the update this morning.

I have a decently powerful PC and video card running on high setting, so this is all the more odd that I am getting stuttering.

I gave up after the fourth crash.  This was on a one month old Macbook Pro running El Capitan.  Swift worked fine before this morning’s update.

Experience today is I would start ride with no other riders showing up, and then it would freeze and crash 3 to six minutes in.

I also note that it is not ideal that you have to get off the bike and sign in on the computer every time this happens.  There should be an option to stay signed in.  Would also love to be able to sign back in via the mobile app so you can at least pedal through the problem.  Totally disruptive to the workout.  So I gave up and used a different workout program.

I’m very sorry to hear about both these issues.

Michael: That sounds like an issue we’ve seen before, which occurs when a user is logged into Zwift on two separate machines, so that might be a place to start. If you are only logged in on one, our next best guess is your graphics driver is out of date. Make sure you have the latest driver, and if that doesn’t fix the issue, please submit a support ticket with your ComputerSpecs.txt from the Documents/Zwift/Logs folder, along with the Log.txt files from the session in question (please make sure it is Log.txt, not Launcher_Log.txt).

Jeff: That sounds like a rough morning. I’m sorry your morning workout was so disrupted. We are working here on better solutions for our log in/log out processes, but in the meantime we would love to get more information on the crashes you’re seeing. Can you please submit a support ticket? The most helpful information is the Apple Crash report that appears after the crash. Just copy/paste the whole thing and we will get to work on solving the crash issue ASAP.

I’m experiencing the same problem with my 2010 Mac Book Pro.  The program seems to crash about 3 to 6 minutes after starting a ride.  Also, I’m observing a 3 to 4 mph speed difference between what my Garmin is recording and what is being used by Zwift?  Any idea why the large difference in speed being reported from a Wahoo Kickr?
