My Kickr V5 with direct connect I’ve not had any issues with connectivity over the past 2 years. What I noticed is once the new zwift version was downloaded this past week my issues started. I’ve got all the updated firmware installed and I have tried power cycling, pairing in correct sequence and have even uninstalled/reinstalled zwift. Is there a firewall update with the new zwift version or anything else I am missing. Not sure what next steps are.
I experienced a similar issue a couple of weeks ago on a new desktop I built for the home gym. Never had any problems with direct connect on the previous desktop. But there was a difference, the new desktop had a pci card installed for wireless networking. Since it had wired networking that was not needed and I took the card out. Have not had this issue again in the 25 or so rides I did since.
Problem is nothing is new with my setup in the past 2 years. Only started happening when zwift rolled out the newest version.
I had a similar issue on my Elite Justo 2. I turned off 10 Hz fast data, and it then worked. By chance do you have that enabled on your Kickr?
I got that and I think it’s likely there is some form of Zwift regression. But if your device has both wired and wireless networking I would still try to disable wireless and see if that brings anything as a workaround.
Hi everyone. This is Jose from Zwift.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your cadence and power results. One of the main reasons this is happening is due to disconnections of the sensors that transmit the information to the game. After checking your accounts, I can see that the sensors that transmit the data to the game are disconnecting from Bluetooth. Could you please follow the steps in this article to isolate the problem?
Hi Jose, I wish it was Bluetooth but did you even look at my account? I am connecting via direct connect for my kickr and my computer is hardwired to Internet so no Bluetooth being used.
Hi @Edz_Lamy ,
Thanks for your reply! This is Jose again.
If you connect it directly, could you please perform a similar ERG workout or SIM activity in both your trainer’s app and the Zwift app? Afterward, please confirm whether the problem also occurs in your trainer’s app.
If the same issue arises in both apps, it indicates that the problem originates from your trainer and not from the app itself. However, if everything works fine in your trainer’s app, please let us know so we can investigate further.
I believe DirCon shows up like a Bluetooth connection in the Zwift logs. Have you already rebooted all of your network gear? I realize that sounds like a throw-away answer but it frequently helps.
Thanks Jose. That is what I’ve checked and the same is occurring in my trainer’s app so it would appear it’s an issue with the trainer. I’ve submitted a support ticket through the manufacturer. Just seemed like too much of a coincidence with the rollout of the latest zwift update that it just stopped transmitting.
