Hello everyone! I don’t know where to post this best… (feel free to move it in correct subcategory)
My belt on my Tacx Flux S made an annoying, screeching sound so I decided to take the cover off and reapply a silicon spray on both sides of the strap. I’d already done this once when I first bought it (second hand) and up until it started again. Now however - after reattaching the cover and bolts etc. the pedals seem to not have resistance when they are going from horizontal to vertical position. Thus it looks like this when I’m trying to use it: youtu.be/nSc6VuQHvzk
Does anybody know how to fix this issue, or is struggling with it too?
I am also pretty confident that I have not applied too much of the Silicon Spray…
I’d guess the surface of the belt has been contaminated with silicone lubricant, and now it’s slipping during each pedal stroke where you apply the maximum force.
I suspect you might need a new belt, and some heavy-duty cleaning of the drive components before you install it.
The annoying screeching sound was the belt slipping like a car fan belt if you spray with silicone spray it will stop the screeching but the belt will keep slipping but silently.
The issue is resolved now! I bought Isopropyl and cleaned the entire power unit (belt and the cogs). Also there was no need to apply any kind of lubricant!
Probably a good idea to pick up a replacement belt at your convenience. My guess is you will need it before too long. Auto parts supplier will offer a better deal than Garmin.
