I am unsure of what to do at this point. I keep disconnecting 30 mins into rides and then the phone pairing with the Bluetooth on the Zwift Trainer fails.
I have tried:
-
Unplugging the trainer for 30 seconds - hard reset doesn’t work
-
Removing all other Bluetooth items from proximity, restarting app, and doesn’t work
-
Restarting the iPhone and rebooting Zwift - doesn’t work
I think that the trainer is potentially overheating and that there could be damaged components inside of the trainer as a farfetched possibility…I am unsure of where to dive in to check though as I am unsure of where the wires run.
Any support is welcomed!
If there’s any chance the trainer may be covered by warranty, don’t take it apart. Contact support first.
Aiming a fan directly at the trainer can help with overheating if that’s the problem.
Hi @Stephen_Lenz,
Welcome to the Zwift forums! This is Jose from Zwift Support.
I’ve checked your account and see you’re using a Zwift Hub. While updating your game version may not fully resolve the issue, I recommend doing so to ensure you’re on the latest release. You can check this article for this.
There are a few common reasons why Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices may fail to connect with Zwift. You can review basic troubleshooting steps here (BLE and ANT+ Interference Troubleshooting Tips) and instructions for connecting via BLE here (Connecting Your Devices for Cycling).
Could you also check if the trainer feels unusually hot during or after the ride? If it does, I recommend contacting us directly here so we can investigate further.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.
Thanks.
