I am having trouble getting my Garmin ANT+ toggle to pick up my speed and cadence sensors. I am using a regular trainer and I have my ANT+ stick plugged into my laptop but the stick is not picking up my sensors.
Any help?

Hey Scott, there may be a few things going on here (from our Issues with finding ANT + article)

  • Your ANT+ dongle is USB 1, not USB 2
  • You have Garmin or Suunto Movescount software running at the same time as Zwift
  • You have another cycling program (like TrainerRoad) running at the same time as Zwift
  • There’s an issue with your ANT+ drivers
  • Your ANT+ dongle (or USB extension, if applicable) is faulty

Do any of these sound like it may be the source of the issue?

I am using the Garmin ANT+ stick that I use to sync my Garmin watch to my laptop. I have a USB extension going from my laptop to the stick. I laid the stick on the floor near my speed sensor however, it will not find it. I know the sensor works because it connects to my watch.

Do you have Garmin Connect running in the background on your computer?

I looked on the stick and it says USB 1. Does that mean it will not work on zwift?

I don’t have connect open right now. I did just see that my ANT+ stick is USB 1. Is that a problem?

If you have an older, unsupported USB 1 ANT+ dongle, it won’t show up in Zwift. Check the product information on the back of the stick: if it’s USB 1, it will have USB 1 printed on the case.
If the dongle is USB1 but your sensor/trainer also connects over BLE, you can try that instead. Otherwise, the fastest way to get online is to purchase a newer USB 2 dongle.

Thanks! My laptop does have bluetooth but it did not want to pick up my sensors either…
