How the Results Are Calculated

Hi everyone,
I’d like to ask for some advice. I rode the DIRT Rolling Thunder last night at 8:05 PM Taiwan time. It was a 1.5-hour target ride. However, at the end of the event, the in-game results showed that I finished 5th, but ZwiftPower listed me as 40th. Does anyone know how this results system works?

I understand that if you’re not registered on ZwiftPower, you won’t appear in the final rankings. But I went full gas trying to stay with the front group, and when I checked other riders’ power outputs, I found some numbers that looked unusual. It made me wonder if I was seeing things. :))))))))

Group rides get a randomized results list on zwiftpower. Its not a race so your finish place doesn’t matter.

Specifically, timed group rides don’t have valid results. Distance based group rides do, but that doesn’t apply to DIRT Rolling Thunder which is a 90 min ride.

Thanks everyone for clearing things up for me
But if the ranking is based on riding distance, I should’ve been placed much highe
Anyway, it doesn’t really matter — getting the training done is what’s most important.

In zwiftpower the ranking is based on elapsed time. Everyone starts the event at the same time, and in a timed event everyone finishes at the same time. Within a few thousandths of a second, no idea what exactly drives that but it’s certainly not distance covered.

There are a few exceptions for specific race formats but no need to go into that now.
