im planning to buy a new PC/Laptop. As i read ZWIFT doesnt have high requirements to hardware.
I read that ZWIFT automatically set gaphics on 720p BASIC Settings when using an integrated CPU graphics. In 2024 the Radeon 780M or Intel ARC GPU are quite strong. Almost as good as GTX 1660 or RTX 1050. So acutally nobody needs a dedicated GPU anymore for ultra settings.
But if ZWIFT still puts integrated graphics into Basic Settings it would be a shame. Anyone knows it?
Hi @Daniel_Klaus1, welcome to Forums. This is Juan from Zwift. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts here. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Graphics is subjective, all depends on what you are looking for. I’d like to share with you the articles below. There you can find relevant information about it.
Hi, now i have a RX 7800XT. I can select Ultra Resolution now but the graphics quality doesnt changed and looks still the same when i used the integrated CPU graphics.
I thought ZWIFT puts the game automatically in the right setting depending on the gpu.
It should, but the problem is it only does that if there is a profile for that GPU and a lot of AMD cards are missing one because I don’t know why, most people are using nvidia cards with zwift I guess and AMD gets overlooked. I think you’re the second person with that specific GPU to bring this up, so I think ZHQ should take a look
You have to submit a request for Radeon products to get Ultra profile…I did for the 6400 Swift LP card (~1050Ti)…only took 15 months…by that time I had moved on to the 4060 LP
I have manually deactivated the integrated GPU. Now when i want to start ZWIFT, i get this Error
Is that a Joke? I bought a new PC for some gaming next to ZWIFT. Before that, i had no dedicated GPU and i was so excited to ride on ZWIFT with ULTRA Settings now. But its still basic and now it wont even start when i want to use my dedicated GPU.
Make sure your video drivers are up to date. Radeon’s had OpenGl drivers updated a few months back. Just because it is a new card, it may not have the latest drivers.
Well, you were probably going to have to do that at some point anyway. I think you can update your drivers through Adrenalin, which is the dedicated software for your GPU. You’ll only have to do it once. If they’re already up to date, try Paul’s suggestion, since I’m not too familiar with AMD
First i had to put my HDMI cable into the gpu and not the Mainboard. The error didnt came anymore when i deactivate my integrated gpu. The drivers are the latest.
But unfortenately the graphics are still basic, although i turned off the integrated graphics. Dont know what the problem is
If zwiftalizer says you are getting the Basic profile, there’s not much you can do about it other than contact Zwift support and ask them to add the 7800XT to the Ultra profile. They probably will add it eventually if you ask, but I wouldn’t expect quick action.
You’ll have to email support, since I don’t know if any staff members who can help you read the forums. Zwift can only display ultra graphics if the staff at zwift have enabled that model of GPU to display ultra graphics, even though a 7800xt can easily handle it. I dunno why zwift works that way but it does. Nvidia GPUs get enabled automatically when they’re released but AMD and Intel cards don’t
It’s not a problem on your end. Hopefully they fix it for you
