#Helmet on!

And the Lazer hemet isn’t ugly? :nauseated_face:
I have the original level 1 helmet on my avatar and it’s the best looking in my book. Just poor color selection.

AK actually wears her aero helmet while racing in game. LOL where is that video link I saw on FB?

gamer with aero helmet

She made my day :joy::joy::joy:

If Zwift made it less aero if you did not wear a helmet that might get more people to put a helmet on

I read some tutorials on how to wear a bike helmet with a ponytail. I tried it on my daughter and it was quite helpful. First, the Ponytail Helmet comes with hairpin ports that can be matched with a ponytail. I prefer to choose a high ponytail bike helmet for this hairstyle. In the case of a low ponytail, a standard helmet with enough space for thick hair will fit. The next step is to place the middle left buckle just below the chin. You can stretch the rope to lengthen or shorten it depending on how comfortable you feel. Make sure that the strap is not too tight, or it will leave marks on your skin and chin area.

I dread it when someone has been killed on a bicycle. Most of the riders around this area I know from previously being involved in the sport as an official. I would be affected if anything happened to any of them.

I’m not one to quibble about helmets in a game, but outside, helmet always because it’s a good precaution and two here it is the law. It hit home that a friend of mine had an off and suffered a very bad head injury (and nearly died). It wasn’t his fault, just dodgy infrastructure that brought him unstuck. Very luckily he survived it. Even though we all have helmets, you just ride with that extra bit of caution after these kinds of things happen.

I am in general for bike helmets and wear one the vast majority of the time I go out for a ride. However forcing people to wear helmets may actually not be beneficial overall. See this paper (The health impact of mandatory bicycle helmet laws) where it balances the increased safety gains of wearing a helmet balanced against the decrease in the amount of people riding a bike because of the required usage of a helmet and the health detriment to them as a result of being less active.

This article (https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/do-bike-helmet-laws-really-save-people/2013/06/03/6a6532b4-c6df-11e2-9245-773c0123c027_story.html ) also quotes a couple of studies that looked at injury rates related to mandatory helmet legislation and came to different conclusions.

OK, this thread has run it’s course.
