Hell of the North

v1.87, AppleTV…. When I finished the route, I didn’t get any options to select a direction. I was taken to the right which I think is Ventoux? I tried u-turn, but again no direction prompt. Repeated that a second time before giving up on my intended route

When I did that route (on an iPad), the directional options came up before the banner for the end of the route. Any chance you missed them? Or that you were in an event, and the options were already ‘past’ after the finish?

In general, though, I feel that the option to go up Ven Top should NEVER be the default option.

Quite possible, I did what I thought would be necessary to trigger the prompt… twice but no dice.

There are bikes to unlock!

I think this has been this way for a while and isnt just hell of the north

I’ve ridden the “Hell” of the North a coupla times and that turn to VenTop is what probably makes it Hell. Otherwise it’s what someone called “The Minor Inconvenience of the North”. It is not a difficult route unless you finish at the Top of Ven.

Hell of the North glitches 0.4 miles from finish

What happened? This route has been working fine so I’m not sure what kind of problem you experienced.

The scenery was still animated side to side, so not a freeze per se, but the game wouldn’t let me advance forward on the route. Other game attributes were advancing, like the clock. It was almost like there was a Forcefield barrier prevent preventing me from moving further along the route. And of course I didn’t get credit for it because I was still 4/10 of a mile from the finish line. I use a dedicated PC with a 1 Mb Internet connection and a neo tacx 2t.

Did you see Watts on the HUD while this was happening?

Do you have Play controllers paired? Those controls offer a braking feature, which sometimes gets stuck on, but can be disabled in settings by moving Braking Sensitivity all the way to the left.

I did see watts on the HUD. I do not have controllers paired.

OK! I don’t have an explanation for that. It doesn’t sound like a problem with the route but it’s definitely worth looking into - contact support to have them look at your logs.

I tried, but I just get an AI chatbot that can’t help.

Try emailing support@zwift.com. Let them know the date of the ride you did so they can locate it.

Also, you should be able to get past the chat bot by asking to speak to a human.

I will - thanks!
