I tested again this evening. This Apple Watch did report bpm to game app HUD. It seems like if I pick my route quickly and not wait more 10-15 seconds after selecting power source and HR monitor, then seems to work fine.
Iāve been through seven sets of bars for the v1 kickr bike. There is an electronics issue that seems to be triggered by some zwift updates. Essentially there are 3 failures;
- get stuck steering to left or right
- get stuck in a gear
- uturns
Wahoo advise you to move the 2 pins to a different combo of the 3 ports. If that doesnāt work power cable out for 30seconds to reset then go again. If that doesnāt work then delete the bike from all apps (including wahoo) and then delete the apps to reinstall again.
Once none of those work they send you new bars.
Good service by wahoo but Iām fairly certain there is either a known memory limitation that canāt handle the inputs from zwift or zwift is constantly coding something that breaks them.
I donāt often comment here, but just to say the pack dynamics have gone crazy and itās making Zwift a very poor experience. I was riding with Constance yesterday and kept being spat out the back, despite pedalling 4.5-5wkg. I am a light rider, but others were commenting too how difficult it was to ride with the pacer.
Also, I kept being put on the other side of the road and losing draft.
This is particularly tough as a near-blind rider who relies on seeing the blob to be able to be able to ride. But itās become so difficult since the update (and Iāve also noticed it on TdZ).
Another user in the forums suggested turning off WiFi on your Apple Watch before starting up Zwift. For me, this has worked wonderfully. It now connects instantly and stays connected even on an older watch.
On Saturday, during a banded group ride, I kept getting slammed off to the right side by an individual rider. It was like being put into the barriers! No amount of steering or power could get me back to the left and back into the group. I more or less had to wait for whatever was causing the other rider to block me to resolve. FWIW, I was Zwifting on a PC with Windows 10 and I had my Play controllers active. My game version had been updated to 1.83.2.
Thanks! I hadnāt seen that PD5 post. I posted here because I hadnāt seen the specific problem I encountered until after the 1.83.2 update was pushed out to my computer.
Itās definitely an issue if you have a steering device! Iām not sure what they have done but it has really made the experience a lot less functional when compared to previous versions.
In game messaging stopped working. Nobody sees what I send and I canāt see the messages from anyone.
AppleTV and iPhone
Maybe you were shadow banned?
Messaging works fine.
Do you have any emails from Ethan Miller?
No. Why would I? I had no in game interaction on Z for weeksā¦
No. Nothing from Ethan
It was just a guess. Shooj already confirmed you werent and gave you some ideas to fix it. Messaging works fine, something is wrong with your equipment.
For me I am getting slammed to the left/center or edge of the road by other riders depending on the route travelled. I have to sprint ahead to break from them, or slow down before I can steer back into the group.
Iāve been struggling with the TdZ rides in the pack and Iāve wondered why. Iām fairly capable with plenty of experience. 400+ races and LvL 83 - but it seems something is off for sure in the Pack Dynamics. Stage 6 B route should have been right up my alley as a Clydesdale on a fairly flat course. Instead Iām spit out the downhills at 300+watts. Couldnāt hold wheels on anything without z4 efforts. Draft seems turned off where it should be on and on where it should be off. I didnāt just have a bad night either - I have enough experience to know the difference. I even checked if my trainer difficulty changed but I honestly think itās always been at default. Maybe Iām wrong but I think I know Zwift pretty well by now.
Maybe youāre aware of this, but while video screenshots are now being captured on Windows again, they do not play on Strava (Android). However, they do play when viewed on Strava in a web browser or when viewed using the iOS version of Strava. When using the Android version of Strava all you see is a still frame and the video refuses to play. Oddly, video screenshots captured on Apple TV play on the Android Strava app and video screenshots captured last year on Windows before the problem with the OS update play fine. Was a different codec used or were there changes made to the encoding parameters? Seems like there is something different now with the video file that is being generated by Zwift on Windows that the Android OS (or the Android Strava app) does not like.
Might be an isolated one.
Video screenshots are being captured on my Windows setup again, and they are playing correctly on my Strava (Android) appp
What is the new overtaking mechanism!
