Game Update v1.73 [September 2024]

edit - oh, I see it’s still phased; ignore below!

With ATV finally released, how soon can we expect the new routes to be accessible to group ride events?
As of time of posting it seems they’re still not available.

I had the option available until version 1.73.2; build 135093 was installed. I am curious, which version do you have?

I finally got the update to my Apple TV last night. I really like the new HUD, and have some feedback for future revisions.

Allow more customization, meaning turning things off and adding more data fields and averages.

The icon next to the distance traveled looks like a percentage sign (right above KM/MI. I kept looking at it thinking it was the elevation, I would suggest a new icon that doesn’t so closely resemble percentage.

The w/kg in the upper right hand corner seems to have slightly different values than what is shown for yourself in the riders nearby. Either it responds quicker or slower than the riders nearby.

Selecting one of the cardio crusher workouts brings you right into Watopia. I was getting really frustrated that I couldn’t select a route, and saw on Zwiftinsider that this is the intended behavior. This is completely different than how workouts normally work, in that you can select a route and see the workout details. I get that it is fewer clicks and probably easier for new users, but for all existing users is not great. I think the Zwift Customer Experience and UX teams really need to think through changes like this to make sure you aren’t creating new and different experiences all over the place, or have better communication on these changes.

I use both IPad and Laptop. Post above was from non updated IPad.

However I have just updated IPad (laptop was already updated) and I can see option to select custom workouts by tags on both devices provided I go into the in ride, menu, workout option.

Race mode on my Kickr V5 seems to have stopped working since the last update when I raced two days ago, anyone else notice this issue?

Good morning Zwift team.
Yesterday I opened up Zwift, updated and enjoyed the new HUD. I really like the improvements and the new look is easy on the eyes and each to consume the information.

Today I logged back in and started a ride and I noticed I had the old HUD and I was now stuck back at level 60 and not earning any XP. Yesterday I was at level 96 and today back at 60.

My guess it looks like an error in the new HUD, because on line ( the Zwift website) says I’m level 96.

Take a look at my Sept 9, 2024 and Sept 10,2024 ride and you can see in the screen shots that the HUD is back to the old and stuck at level 60.

Thanks
Michael Cornelison

How are you telling the difference?

Hello Zwifters
New routes have been released today for use in Clubs, Meetups, and Events.

They appear in companion but when i try add them to mylist the icon spins for a second then stays as unselected

Yeah the text was much jumpier a couple of years ago, but changing it to “slightly closer to monospaced” is even more annoying IMO. As Zwift has been telling us for the past few weeks, they’ve been around for 10 years and still can’t get this simple thing right.

We made a server-side fix for the new routes not appearing in the Companion app’s My List. Would you try again?

@shooj

Any fix for the duplicate riders in the ZCA for Android? When you click on an event to see the riders, “network error retry” appears, and the page won’t load. You have to click on the retry, the page loads and then there are duplicates of leaders/sweepers/followers

that worked and it also seemed to have remembered the ones i attempted to add earlier as they were already in my list.

But checked my removing and adding again all good now thanks

I have ridden a few times with the new HUD and like someone already mentioned, there’s a timing issue with current watts and the color of the effort bar. In my case it can be wrong in both directions on the bar, so let’s say 200 watts should be blue (z2) but I’ve seen it either green (z3) or grey (z1) depending on wattage changes. It seems like color change is not as responsive as wattage (I use 3s average power).

On the plus side, the text is so small on some of the numbers in the new HUD that I can’t even see the numbers moving anymore. So thanks Zwift, I guess.

Is the lack of transparency on the climb pro HUD an intentional design choice or a bug?

@shooj

Didn’t think opening a separate topic was necessary.

Apple TV updated to 1.73.2 last night w/new HUD. Nice :sunglasses: I did the “Ignite” workout from Cardio Crusher series. During the workout, an onscreen message displayed a message with cardio misspelled as “cadio”. I was too slow to get a screenshot and don’t remember the exact verbiage, but it should be easy to track down.

Thanks Ian… it’s not ideal but it works… it’s a couple of extra steps… thanks for everything!!!
