Game update v 1.104 [December 2025]

Following up on myself… After reading others had success reverting to Ant+, I re-tried it and it appears to be working - the resistance varies with the terrain. (I also tried pairing via bluetooth through a tablet instead of directly to the PC, but that did not work - it did not even see my trainer.)

Same issues as everyone else, can’t connect Bluetooth on Windows and when I can connect via Mac the ERG/resistance does not work at all. We can’t ride and have two SB20s.

Thanks Mike. Sadly the workaround doesn’t seem to work for me. I add the bike as a speed sensor but then the power source is greyed out so no joy. Equally, no Stages bike is shown as an option under “Select your Trainer” when I choose my bike as a speed sensor

Unfortunately I experienced no connection at all, which is really frustrating when you are a leader of a group ride, and your own ride starts without you… Please do proper testing prior to releasing software changes. Unit testing, integration testing, acceptance testing. Sorry, bad habit from me as I am in the business of software development already too long. Connection issues were fixed on a Wahoo Kickr Bike v2, why do you make new changes again, and why does this just not work like supposed to? Grrr… Sorry for the frustration, consider me just human as well  But hosting weekly events already for 7 or 8 years, I do expect some stability on connectivity.

can you try pairing with the companion app? I have 3 teammates with SB20’s and this is working for them, using the companion app that is.

I’m not sure you were supposed to select the Stages bike as a speed sensor. The workaround says just to go into the speed sensor selector, where you should see the Stages bike as an option, and then go back to the power selection option, where the Stages bike should then show as an option.

So maybe if you unpair the Stages bike as a speed sensor, and then try the power option it might work.

Watt bikes are not on the list of Zwift compatible bikes

yes they are

Same issue here, JetBlack Victory no longer showing up as available to connect via WiFi.

I’m with you Joni. A day after updating to new release the app is unusable and Zwift support has gone crickets. Reminds me of standing by the side of the road during an IRL race waiting for a spare wheel… for 24hrs with the team car still nowhere in sight.

No issues pairing SB20 via BLE on Samsung Tablet since new update has been released. I normally pair left crank as power source, SB20 for cadence and controllable.

previous version worked great, after this update resistance not working on my trainer! lot of people same problem! i cant do my workout! fix this asap pls!!!

Thanks Mike. I hadn’t realised the Companion app workaround needed to be on PC (I always use iPad). I loaded Zwift on PC and then connected my bike via the Companion app. This worked perfectly, so many thanks for your kind advice. Hopefully Zwift will fix the iOS version soon

Yes! When I first posted yesterday, I got an immediate answer with suggestions which I appreciated. Then crickets…… and no answers to support emails either.

Have you tried the suggested workaround of pairing via the Companion app?

Ah, understood….i had indeed selected the bike under Speed Sensor. I just tried again without selecting it this time. When I toggled back to Power Source, it only showed the 2 power pedals sadly. Not matter as I found the workaround using PC and Companion app to connect worked for me. It’s just the iPad that doesn’t work anymore. Thanks again for your help

Seeing your post made me go and check my setup again.

Turned on my Surface Pro 4 and even though I swear I saw Zwift update last night, there was an update downloading, so I let it update!

Victory and my Coospo HRM both paired as normal over wifi, Play controllers to use the installed Cog on the Victory paired as normal through Bluetooth to Companion app (Click buttons supplied with Victory still in box), so I joined a robopacer on Tempus Fugit for a test…

Trainer difficulty 100% as per normal so far.

My normal virtual gearing preset is “mixed terrain” with “sequential” gearing. I think it felt like easier gearing than normal, gear 14/15 was still below my normal racing in the pack power of ~200W. Resistance gradually increased as I increased gear, but around 19/20, there seemed like a sudden big increase in resistance that required ~300W to turn the pedals.
Changing from “sequential” to “SRAM” didn’t change the above feeling.

I then changed to the “all-rounder” preset. I don’t remember trying that before in the few weeks I’ve had my Victory, but that felt better, gear 10 was ~150W iirc and increasing gear gave steady increase in resistance.
Seemed to react same way in either “sequential” or “SRAM.”

Only briefly tried “hill climb” and “{flat TT?}” presets and they generally behaved as expected, I needed a high gear in former to get decent cruise resistance and a lower gear for latter.

In summary, is “mixed terrain” preset now broken?

Yes, everything pairs fine, just no movement of avatar or display of power. Worked fine Tuesday morning, then when trying a banded group ride Tuesday evening, pedal assist carried me for the set time limit and then I was dropped. Same yesterday and today, my avatar does not move.

Sorry, but because others with the lack of resistance problem replied to you, I assumed that you also had that issue. I now see that you have a completely different issue.

UPDATE December 18

  1. We’ve discovered the root cause for the “I can pair my trainer, but don’t have resistance” issue thanks to the details that you provided in this thread, and are working on a patch to fix it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, here’s a proven workaround: rather than pair your trainer directly to the main Zwift app - use the Zwift Companion app running on a separate smartphone to “bridge” the Bluetooth signal. Here’s how.

  1. For those who can’t find the trainer’s signal at all: are you running the main Zwift app on macOS / iOS / tvOS? Please check if your device has updated to OS v26.2 which Apple released 6 days ago. When Apple updates an OS, they strip app permissions of their ability to use Bluetooth and WiFi. The simplest way to fix that is to uninstall / reinstall the Zwift app (here’s how to do that on every OS) , then say yes to all the permissions prompts when they pop up.

  2. Direct Connect issues specifically with JetBlack trainers will also be solved with this upcoming patch

Please keep an eye on this thread for a progress report.
