More accurately, you pay a subscription fee to use Zwift’s platform as they provide it.
If Zwift sold the platform subscription as “Any world, any time”, sure. But they don’t.

We’re still a few months out from offering Meetups in Makuri Islands. Sometime Fall 2021, specifics will be announced as we get closer.
Was able to fix it by uninstalling, removing the old install folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Zwift) and reinstalling.
More new roads going to be added soon?
Few months? That’s odd.
A post was merged into an existing topic: macOS problems with new update? [1.13.0] [May 19 2021]
Maybe they have to release it all first
Wow, how comes there is such a gap? That’s not been the case for previous releases?
That’s what I reckon. Several stages to this release - Olympic stuff, Mt Fuji, Neon City - and rather than having to mess about updating the meetups every time they just do it in one go at the end.
Imagine if they did that for Watopia. We’d wait years. This is dumb.
We did wait years for Watopia to become what it is today, at least those of us who have been Zwifting since the beta.
Olympics start in July. So, assuming there is more Japan to come w/the Olympics, we will only be waiting a couple months.
edit: fix autocorrect error
Haven’t seen the new world yet, but more roads is highest priority in my book, so hooray and thank you. Keep that new tarmac coming !!!
The new roads look decent, but I hope they start to release a few more routes with more of a big city feel to them rather than all countryside.
DC Rainmaker reported that Zwifts plan for this new world is to be as big as Watopia. If that is true then it is very good news and should offer up years of expansions.
I would still love to see development on the race side, just to start:
Pretty cool world. Very nice scenery that was very reminiscent of the time I spent in Northern Japan in the 70’s. The rural scene was very similar.
I only rode for 20 minutes on the Flat Route. It’s going to be interesting when there’s a big field of riders on those little Japanese roads. There were 52 riders in the entire world when I was there just now. I handed out about 10 RideOns.
The update went seamlessly for me but I’m on a dedicated Zwift PC with a wired 1gb LAN and 1gb fiber internet connection. The only glitch was exiting; it wouldn’t shutdown. I had to hit ESC and then got the “Program not Responding” window.
Still it saved the activity and everything worked. Even steering and the HRM played well; this has been a problem for months. If I start a ride with steering enabled, the HRM stops working. I’ve had to turn off steering in the pairing screen, start the ride, then go back to the pairing screen and reselect steering. Pain in the butt. For events, I just switch to ANT+ and forget about steering since virtually no events have it enabled.
I still can’t select a TP Run Workout with Duration and Threshold pace intervals…
The workout doesn’t appear in Zwift Workout list.
As in 5 km of new road per year?
Does that apply to everyone who reports bugs after every update as well? You’re paying for “Zwift’s platform as they provide it” as you say, so just keep paying your subscription and shut up?
Why even add new roads or do any improvements at all, when Zwift’s platform as they provided it 5 years ago was fine at the time?
Zwift is a great tool, but it’s in desperate need of improvement on the user interface side, and for me the number 1 improvement that needs to be done is to get rid of the ridiculous concept of the guest world.
Ideally I’d like to see all of the worlds merged into Watopia, making it a mix of (not very accurate) real world courses and a fantasy world with dinosaurs and volcanoes.
It was slightly disappointing reaching 50 anyway. Not celebrated by anything except a cycling strip!
No Fence update? was hoping for the best
