Game Update 1.57 [January 2024]

There may be a different explanation, but given the server response to client request game_1_34_hw_restrictions_forbidden_hw it appears to be intentionally blocked

          "forbidden_device_name_list": {
            "HR2VP"
          },
          "forbidden_manufacturers_name_list": {

          }

Interesting find!

Maybe because the support is broken. Zwift said that there are issues and that they will provide a new integration this winter.

Tacx trainer resistance issues have been split to a dedicated thread. Please join us there for additional discussion on this issue: Unexpected Resistance Issues with Trainer [January 2024]

Was that a sledge hammer to very much break a nut? Rather than ban a single user, just block the entire manufacturer of kit they were using.

Rollout for Windows / macOS / Android continues today, and iOS / tvOS have started rolling out.

What does VP mean in this context? Just being curious.

EDIT: Or do they block this app?

Looks like I’m going to bypass this update until TACX issues are well investigated and fixed. I have a TACX NEO 2T and I’m using it with Zwift every single day so if it brakes, I’ll be off of my regular training schedule.

This update hasn’t landed on my laptop yet

2 android tablets and 1 windows pc, still not updated

Rollout is still in progress.

Seems a slow one this time round

I’m pretty sure it usually takes at least 48 hours, this doesn’t seem out of the ordinary.

Given the Tacx Flux issues they may be holding back a bit as well.

Hi everyone - we’re rolling back game version 1.57 at this time, due to the trainer resistance issues reported.

We will be rolling back versions for Zwifters who had already received 1.57. Please refer to the Latest Game Version post to determine when each platform rollback has been completed.

The rollout generally takes three days. Windows/Mac/Android over the first three days, and iOS/iPadOS/tvOS on days two and three.

We were just starting day three, so it would have been about now the devices got the update that hadn’t had it yet (start of the US West Coast day). But now it’s been rolled back anyway.

I’ve been having a lot of problems in the last few weeks with trainer resistance. I feel like I’m working as hard, if not harder, as ever but getting nowhere. All my numbers are way down, even for me whose at the lower end. I’m thinking I’m crook, getting crook, whatever, because it feels like a complete lack of return/energy, for the effort it feels like I’m putting out. So this is a bit of a reach…is this possibly something that was mentioned earlier about trainer resistance and the new update? I use a wheel on wahoo kickr snap. Thanks for any input, apologies for the short story!

I haven’t heard of any issues with this release and the Snap, which is quite a popular trainer so I would expect to hear about any issues. We’ll have to wait and see if Zwift clarifies the scope of the problem.

With the Snap, you have to take care to set it up and calibrate properly. Install a trainer tire. Inflate to the manufacturer’s spec. Tension the roller to spec. Calibrate using the Wahoo app. Maintain consistent tire pressure between calibrations, preferably with a digital tire pressure gauge. Pay extra attention to that if there are temperature variations in the training location.

Folks on Android / iOS / ATV who had already updated to 1.57.0, please note the roll back version varies from Windows / PC, and will be v 1.57.1 (1.0.124892) for these platforms.

Oh, that explains it. I got 57 on one system yesterday, and didn’t get it on my main system. Hope the bugs are flushed out soon.
