Hi @Nick_Luhr, while Zwift uses OpenGL for it’s graphics, it also uses DirectX (not Direct3D) for it’s audio capabilities.
This is your Companion app not being able to see your Zwift game device on your local network. So it’s a local network-related issue, I’m afraid. Reboot all the devices including your home router, make sure you’re not running a VPN or have any work-related lockdown stuff on your devices. It may be your home router itselr stopping one device from being able to see the other.
What was the issue, and why affect paired Play controllers the draft anyway? The road position should affect, and not if a certain hardware is paired.

After this rollout yesterday to my ATV I am no longer able to direct connect my Garmin TacX Neo2 to Zwift, it is not found. Zwift will only find it pairing through the companion app.
Update: I did some testing with my iPad and iPhone, no issues there, they immediately see the Neo, with and without WiFi connection. Never went to the pairing screen for an option to connect through companion.
Thank you! Great that Zwift continues to improve! Are there any plans to improve to connectivity issues with Zwift play? A lot of people are having issues with that currently.
Please can we get workouts in meet-ups without the need to create a club???

Yes, we’re working on further improvements to Zwift Play connectivity. No specifics to share quite yet, but we have work in progress on this.
Try to update the permissions on your Apple TV, the update might have reset them
Zwift on iPads doesn’t show the distance other riders/runners are behind you. Any plan to fix this?
A bit of an aesthetic point… the outer boundaries of numerics vary even though their size in the design is relatively equal no matter whether it is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. The effect of a few different pixels changing with constant numerical changes causes alphanumeric information to constantly move left and right ever so slightly, makes the screen overly animated and can look very sloppy and distracting at times. Example: 139W changes to 140W and the whole string moves a couple of pixels. Is there any consideration to improve this so that when numbers render, the spacing between them doesn’t change when the values update? The font itself doesn’t have to have a robotic “fixed width” look, just increase or decrease the horizontal white space so that the widest numbers align with the narrowest. It would likely improve graphics performance as well, due to significantly fewer visual updates.

Zwift was still in the BT list on the Apple TV. I checked the Tacx and it has the latest firmware. I reinstalled Zwift but the problem persists, no direct connect after the update was pushed, will only connect through the companion app. I have the Zwift controllers but don’t have them turned on as I was racing in non steering events, makes me wonder if there were changes to profiles for those who use the play controllers?
Same thing with my ATV: after last update Zwift won’t pair with Saris H3 trainer or HR: have to restart ATV before pairing.
While considering a “never show streak screen” option, please also consider a “just quit, save, and put me in the main screen” option.
I don’t want to look at anything or make decisions after a ride. Just put me back on the main screen and quietly save everything in the background while I look at the next thing I want to do.
Been Zwifting since 2016 and can’t say I have ever much looked at that stuff. Just get annoyed having to press (virtual) buttons to get past the dialogs.
With Companion app, make sure your phone is only connected to wifi network and have mobile/cell data turned off so that the companion remains connected to the Zwift game.
Great! Good to hear. I really like the controllers, so would be great to see that part being improved
