Game Update 1.46 [August 2023]

This is not a new issue & has been a problem when they were first released and in both v1.45 & 1.46. My only success with them was in v1.44.2. The right controller disconnects randomly & often. Haptic feedback is felt whenever it drops. Some buttons may still work (like ride on bomb) but not the on screen display. The right controller is still listed in the devices menu but is unchecked each time it drops. The left controller seems to stay connected most of the time.

See this thread on the Bugs & Support forum : Zwift Play Controller connection issues [1.43, 1.44, 1.45]

So far, the workarounds have been to connect the controllers via the companion app or connect them to power via their charging cable while you are zwifting.

Feel free to contact Zwift support so they can see that this is still an issue.

I want some of that sweet 60 gbps speed. Are you collocated with a backbone node?

Hi Alan - Thanks for keeping us up to date on this. What does “very soon” mean?

Also, the camera 1 view continues to place the avatar too close to the bottom of the screen. Not all the time, but when changing worlds, going from pace partner to an event, or even changing equipment. The view more closely resembles camera 2. I can send a few screengrabs if you need the visuals.

Thanks for all the work you all do!

I’m using a Sterzo, but was completely away from the handlebars (and ZCA on my phone attached to them) at the time.

Now if the Sterzo or other similar devices can so easily “knock you off route”, there needs to be a better way to provide positive confirmation that you definitely want to stop following a particular route (the equivalent of having to hold the buttons down on ZCA). Especially (for example) if you have intentionally chosen to follow a RP, or perhaps get a badge for a particularly long route.

It makes no sense that whilst you may be focusing on using the handlebars to stay in the draft, you accidentally use them to turn away from a RP when the “left right straight” options suddenly pop up. At that exact point you may be trying to hold to one side for the draft, and that instantly becomes the option to turn away from the RP, so you have to think unnaturally to steer out of the draft just because it’s to move you back to the steering option to stay with the RP?? That can’t be right

In previous versions Zwift Play caused “connection disconnected” issues. This did not happen on my first ride after updating but the iOS app on my iPad crashed after 90 minutes of cycling. Lost race results. Not convinced about Zwift Play stability.

For squashing this bug alone, many heartfelt thanks

  • Fixed an issue on the Save Activity screen where “No Club” sharing preference would not be remembered between sessions.

Will PC ever get the video record button!

Depends on CPU, maybe not

I think that’s the steering issue I’ve been experiencing. Whilst being very focused on using the steering to maximize draft efficiency, I haven’t paid attention to the route options pop up before junctions, and just assumed I would be routed automatically with the RP. So for example, if there is a bend in the road in the other direction to the RP route at the next junction, my steering for the draft can easily become the trigger to turn away from the RP before I’ve realised what’s happened. Anyone else do this or am I the only idiot who hasn’t figured this out?
@Rowdy I’d prefer a clearer prompt to stay on track if poss!!

New results screen may need more testing

I don’t know if this has been said before, but there’s been something wrong on ATV on the ride summary since an update (don’t remember which one but was near mid-July).
When you click on the timeline tab (or the power related one), then you can’t go down on the screen to click on « OK ». To get out of the screen you have to go back to the general tab and then scroll back until you can reach the « OK » button. It can be really annoying.

Thanks I updated these this morning and it actually connects now. Downside is it doesn’t last very long and it’s now interfering with my Neo and disconnecting that too.
I never have connection issues with the trainer

Volcano loop. I was coming from the Italian Village, across the causeway, and up the short climb to turn left. Just over that small pimple rise after the right hand turn, the avatar swerved hard right, and in the ‘lava room’ half of the gate was missing by a protected area that changed as I came around the first left heading to the exit. Just strange world issues

An old bug came roaring back.

Years ago, I would edit or even create a custom workout and something in the system would randomly subtract 5 seconds from interval goals. Once it got so bad I fought the system to get a workout saved with none of the times altered as it was saved. (I would change on interval, and on saving, see that another interval was altered, and editing to change that one, another one was altered. It was quite a struggle, but it finally left it alone and I had my intervals the way I programmed them)

Well, IT’S BACK!! I edited a workout yesterday and, as usual, didn’t notice the adulteration before starting the workout, and the first interval was ‘edited’ with the second set-point minus 5 seconds. I was already through the warmup part of the workout, and decided to just ride on. As before it makes NO SENSE that something in the editor is doing this. What the heck would be changing workouts like that? Back when it was really bad, the fights were insane! Having to edit a workout multiple times to just get the damn workout to save without the changes. Frustrating? Oh, a little more then that

Please, someone tell me this is an issue that is being looked into and that it will be corrected

Thanks

Ride on!!

EDIT: An image of the bug’s handiwork
I can’t believe that I’m the only one experiencing this issue

Still having an issue when joining a pace partner on the Companion app-it (the Companion app) always gets stuck on the screen where you’ve made the choice to join, in game you go there and that works just fine but Companion stays stuck. I have to close Companion and open it again for it to work normally. iPhone 12 Mini, iOS 16.6 always up to date.

What with the flashing powerups? Noticed that after the update. or did I miss that in a previous update?

Feedback on the new finish screen:
Finishing time is the least important thing on the page and it’s huge (and gets cut off)

No HR anywhere

Give me the 20/5/etc power times for everyone in a grid along with average and max HR

Basically just copy the ZP results grid and clean it up a bit

Had the update this morning and it crashed at the pairing screen or just after, I wasn’t in the room but zwift had closed itself down and when reopening it the pairing screen wasn’t showing anything, had to reboot the machine to get it working, might have been a one off mind as after the reboot everything was fine

Several users flagged this up about a month ago, and @Rowdy kindly promised to flag this up to Zwift staff. Unfortunately I haven’t heard anything since, and the problem is still there and really annoying.

Any news @Rowdy ?

Any chance this update could cause Apple TV to continually put up a “ pairing request” four and HRM and not allow you to connect because the pairing request keeps coming back up even after you cancel? This just started today.
