Game Update 1.40 [May 2023]

It shouldn’t have had my name appended to the beginning. Should have started with “Recovery” no bracket

I think this is unrelated to Stuart’s issue, but I’ll keep an eye out for more examples of both.

Hello Zwifters!

Any update on when Repack Ridge will be reopened? I just got a Sterzo Smart steering block and itching to try it out. Thank you!

The screenshot uploading toggle issue is fixed in 1.40.

FYI you can steer in free rides and most events too, you don’t need to wait for repack ridge to reopen to try it out.

That’s exactly what someone who’s planning to bring Judgement Day down on Watopia would say.

I, for one, welcome our new RoboPacer overlords. (The new ones do look pretty cool - I want that helmet!)

Hey Mike.

Yes I know. The “it” I was referring to is Repack Ridge. Apologies if that wasn’t clear.

The ZwiftPower profile for a race on Triple Flat Loops was wrong today, short by about 2km (lopped off the start of the course, I think).

I did a long ride today and while still on 1.39, RoboPacers had the new Terminator look. I thought this was a 1.40 feature…. BTW, they look intimidating :flushed:

Just circling back (from the “Game Update 1.39” thread) to confirm that all’s back to normal with Sterzo Smart calibration in 1.40. Thank you. This is a minor issue for sure, so it’s reassuring that it’s been picked up and dealt with rapidly.

Thanks for confirming that calibration on your Sterzo is working as it should!

Hi @calfzilla
We’ve been investigating your report. I believe this is the ZwiftPower results page for this race you did, yes?

You are correct in the 2km is missing from the start of the course - that’s the lead-in distance from the starting pen to the actual start / finish line for Triple Flat Loops route in the Fuego Flats sprint.

Yes that is the event.

Thanks for confirming. The 33.9km distance is correct from the Strava segment point of view. It’s the distance covered in 1 lap leaving the start / finish arch and back. The “advertised” distance of 36km in the event description includes the lead-in.

During the race - the heads up display will let let you know when you’re still on the lead-in section from starting pen > start arch. Once you cross under the arch, the HUD will change to show you the distance to the finish, so there should be no confusion about when you should wind up your sprint to the line.

Everything was fine in-game. I sometimes pull up ZwiftPower for live stats and the profile/distance was wrong and had people shown incorrectly on the course profile due to the distance error. This was a problem with every map in Scotland shortly after release, I haven’t done a Scotland event recently so I don’t know if it was fixed.

My cursor at the end of the profile here should be 36km. This is not a typical problem even on courses with long lead-ins (e.g. some London routes) or multiple laps. But it seems to be a problem for every event on Triple Flat Loops.

Compare against this event, they start from the same pen and so the rise coming out of the desert is at about 10km. In the profile for Triple Flat Loops it shows the rise at 8km on ZP which is incorrect, so positions vs. hills/distance are wrong: ZwiftPower - Login

Looks like 1.40 hasn’t fixed joining robopacers for me! I updated yesterday on Apple TV then tried to join. First time I was joined at the original start finish banner in Watopia even though the pacer was on Tempus. I was nowhere near the group. Second time I joined but sped through the group during the joining time and ended up 1 km up the road.

Hi Mark - Sorry about this. We have further fixes on this coming in 1.41 (couple of weeks).
