Which is how it should be imho.
Yeah, I agree with James.
I’ve always thought the Zwift XP progression made little sense. I can’t think of another example where to get from one level to the next takes the same or less XP than the previous one (they probably do exist).
It’s normal for the gaps to increase between levels. The real key is how much does the rate of change increase. Sometimes the jumps are larger than others.
e.g. WoW Shadowlands:
The jump from 50 to 51 is larger than most, but in general it’s a smooth curve.
I can see both sides, it should get harder for each level but where we are currently it’ll just mean there is a kind of max level.
It’ll take 101,000 miles to get from 60 to 100 which i’m guessing not many people will do.

@T_im_BacOn_Searle_AH your thoughts? ![]()

FYI, I put them on immediately!
Tim probably finished Level 60 yesterday!
Level 60 is “only” 250,000 XP or 6,250 Km at 40xp/Km
But we all ride at different rates and different amounts of banked XP.
I seem to average ~50km a day, I know people who do double that and there are those who’d love my average. So I’m looking at about 2 years of 40xp/km (~30,000km).
Who should Zwift cater for? Tim? Me? a 25Km/day guy? the person who rides winter only?
Level 60 is a start, hopefully they’ve worked out a process for L61 to 70 (more socks
)

I kind of think have the XP counter instead of levels made more sense to me.
show that next to or instead of drops (does anyone even use them?)
I don’t know whether this is a historic bug, something new in 1.29 or yet another “feature” of Zwift Academy, but i was quite surprised to discover today that RGV is a desert in Watopia.
The ride title is auto generated. Not my handiwork.
A large release and once again the Ride With A Friend Feature is NOT back. Why does Zwift keep lying about bringing this feature back? Why does Zwift NOT understand how important this feature is to so many Zwifters.
What am I missing?

I see no reason to suspect malicious intent here. I’m sure they are very eager to stop maintaining the old home screen since that work is all going in the bin as soon as the home screen transition is done. I imagine they underestimated how hard it would be to make everything work on Apple TV, and put the focus on that. Also underestimated how much users loved the ride with feature (product design miscalculation). They seem to struggle on both engineering velocity and quality measures. Velocity is harder to change quickly, and trying to increase velocity can lead to more quality problems (we’re probably experiencing this). I’d suggest that quality problems hurt customers more than slow velocity. They’ve said the feature is coming back and I believe that.
Imagine if there was a public forum of sorts where they could have found out, that’s be wild.
As well as the rain!
The ride on bombs in events is not working in an event i rode today. Is that just in special events?
This is my opinion as well. This is also the way it works in multiple games I’ve played, so it’s something I’ve come to expect. Getting from level 1 to level 2 should be easier than 2 to 3 etc… And doing it using some form of exponential curve is what will really distinguish the levels at the higher band. You’ll always have a next level to shoot for, but it isn’t going to be in just a few weeks.
I am actually surprised at how little XP it takes to get from 50 to 60, where before the end of this season people are going to be complaining about wanting more levels again.
250,000 XP at 30 per mile = 8,333 miles… it will take a lot longer than you think
