I don’t want to rock any boats docked on Zwift island, but personally I think it was a mistake to release the Windows and Mac versions so far apart.
In a way, I understand where Zwift is coming from; if circumstances or poor planning FORCE you to pick one, you’ll find the largest number of data nerds on the Windows platform so I’d build for them.
That said, I’m happy to report that the Zwift beta is working extremely well using Windows 8 via Boot Camp on my Early 2011 15" MacBook Pro. This laptop is equipped with a 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card and OWC Mercury Extreme 6G SSD hard drive.
All animation is smooth, there is no visual stuttering at all, no artifacts–no problems unique to this hardware at all from what I can tell.
I’ve posted my process here, as a follow-up to another forum user’s solution to installing Windows on technically unsupported Macs and it is a little piece of nerdcore to be sure: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=20715902#post20715902
