Mac graphics rendering and frame rate

First ride on the Mac beta. What a relief that it’s great. Two things:

  1. I think the literal and harsh rendering of the pixels may not be the best. My screen was set to 720p before starting the game and any diagonal (such as trees or sign posts) lines appeared “jagged”. Not sure what this would do to the graphics processing but a very subtle gaussian blur or similar would probably do wonders

  2. The Mac version animated with a little more of a “cinematic” quality than on Windows on the very same hardware (via Boot Camp). Guessing this is due to frame rate. No idea what my frame rate is for each.

My hardware is:

Early 2011 15" MacBook Pro.
2.2Ghz i7.
16GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card with 1GB VRAM
6g SSD drive.

Forgot to mention:

OS 10.10.2 Yosemite

The game itself is capable of very smooth effects with anti-aliasing, advanced textures and lighting. Zwift automatically choses what level of graphics complexity it will display for your computer. There are levels such as Basic, High and Ultra. Using a MacBook Air, I’m only able to achieve the Basic setting and I suspect that’s the case for your laptop as well.

More Mac performance reporting: Presuming I’m on the lowest graphics settings the kit isn’t working too hard; 160F for the CPU and 150F on the GPU. I see much higher when doing a google hangout at work.
