Hey all! Relatively new to Zwift and cycling so this is a noob question. My current zFTP score is 248w, but when I do a planned Zwift workout it’s based on an FTP of 280w. The last FTP test I did was July 2025 and that was around 280w so do I need to manually adjust or should this be done automatically? Thanks in advance for any advice!
zFTP is a racing categorization number which is not your FTP. For workout purposes, pay no attention to it.
If you are able to complete really hard workouts with FTP set to 280W then you’re probably fine, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to test again or go ride up The Grade KOM at max effort and look at the little sign on the side of the road right after the KOM banner and make a note of the number it shows there.
or manually lower it to 250 and then do the Grade climb so it will automatically adjust to your new number assuming it is higher than 250. Then you don’t have to try to remember or take a screenshot.
Ahhh! That makes sense. Thanks so much for your help.
