Freehub problem on Zwift ride + Zwift hub one

Hello everybody,

I was riding in a group ride today when i suddenly had no more resistance as if my bike chain broke. It was not the case my ride was just spinning in the void.

I took the Zwift ride off the Zwift hub one and disassembled the cog v2 and the freehub. The freehub seems to don’t work anymore as it’s not making the rest of the trainer move.

Also i have noticed that the part in the last picture is broken.

I have send a message to Zwift, can i do something else ?

They should send you all that stuff. The lockring could be replaced with almost any steel Shimano lockring but if the freehub is dead then you need another one of those. Looks like a pawl is missing from the freehub. You should check where it went. It may be in pieces in the trainer.

You mean this ?
Sorry. I am not used to english names of bike part

Yes that looks like it. It may not be broken. You could also try to remove most of the grease from the freehub and try to put it back together, but sometimes it’s the spring that fails.

I have tried to put it back 2 times but it did not work and i am not really good with these mechanic.

I tried again and when i put the freehub back it’s turning but it s not making the flywheel move at all

One thing that is strange in the second picture is that the pawls should stick out rather than sitting flush with the freehub body. Here is a picture to show what I mean.

Typically, there are little springs that push the pawls outward; you need that for the freehub to engage with the rest of of the hub.

After your message i looked again and i did not see any spring on the freehub pawl so i have no idea of where they went. Maybe they broke, is it possible ?

The spring is that steel ring that I can see in the first picture you posted. The pawl at the top of the photo appears to be misaligned and the spring is not sitting in the slot in the pawl. I’m not sure what it looks like now that you have reinstalled the missing pawl. If that spring is damaged or not installed properly, that could prevent the pawls from functioning. If you can’t get it working you could take everything to a bike shop and ask them to look at it.
