Just got my butt handed to me by a guy with a rating of 771 in B. Butt was handed to me by others as well, but he was riding away from the pack with ease.
What gives?

Either a new rider, someone returning to Zwift after the summer break, someone showing their true ability or over-reading turbo.
Just found profile, returning rider after not riding since around March, so 90 day power history was giving them a low seed score.
Obvious looking back to around last Feb that they should be in Racing Score pen A.
Currently, a rider who signs up for an event in advance may join a pen below their score (just like with CE events). If they get upgraded before the event, they can still do the event according to their old score.
In this post Zwift mentioned they may address this gap.
Just raced against a 5.3 20min A+ rider in B. Filtering outliers is middle school kind of computer science. How was a deeper history not accounted for?
To top it off, he was playing team games with a true B teammate.
Asinine.
