Man, I’m having this issue as well.
It seems that the iOS13 updates have wreaked havoc on the indoor cycling community.
Same problems here. Yesterday I thought I’d try out my Apple Watch as a HR monitor for Zwift on iPad and I couldn’t figure out why the app kept crashing on my watch. At least it’s not just me it’s happening to!
I’m having the same issues. Chatted with Zwift about it & they know it’s a problem. Hoping it gets resolved soon.
Don’t be put off Josh. When it works it’s great. Just bad timing for you. I’m sure they’ll fix it soon.
Same issue for me. This we’re fine 4 days ago. Watch app crashes even after restarting watching and reinstalling app.
Any timeline for the fix release?

Same issue here this morning. Wanted to do a race, but can’t get Zwift Power results without HR. Zwift saying paired but reading HR as ‘—‘. When clicking on Apple Watch app it either says unpaired (when Zwift says paired) or it eventually pairs but immediately crashes.
Glad to find this thread; at least it’s not just me. Hopefully it is corrected soon.
Try new Zwift Companion update on iPhone. This solves the problem. It was updated some hours ago.
Even worse now. Before it was just my Apple Watch that wouldn’t stay paired. Now the app on my phone quits every single time I start.
After update, restart phone and watch. Did work for me after i did that.

Uninstalled on both phone and watch. Reinstalled on both. Now working again on phone. Still will not pair with watch.
Same here. Very annoying! Hopefully fix will be fixed again soon…this time for real. Update not working.
Restart phone and watch, i did that. My workout after that did show HR all time.
Have restarted both multiple times now. Watch will still not pair and now have the unstable app problem on the phone (highlighted in another thread).
Restart not working. Do you have Both Zwift and companion app on watch and on phone? Does it matter which one to start?
I run companion on phone and Zwift on mac
And on watch? Also only companion?
