Failure to Launch MacOS Update

Hi Collective Wisdom,

Having tried all I can think of after searching past posts/own knowledge I’m giving this a go to see if anyone has any new ideas.

On the same Mac machine but with updated OS, fails on hitting ‘Let’s go’ - disappears from screen when previously worked fine. Both Game ver. 1.72.2 Launcher was 1.1.12 and updated to 1.1.13 (then downgraded to 1.1.12).

What I have tried: download Zwift under new OS, rename files under Documents so it build new ones, delete Zwift - copy across old Zwift app for old launcher from old system.

Only once seen an actual error code ZLM04, so also restarted router.

Unusual situation is I have bootable versions of old and new OS on same machine (old is a safe copy for other reasons) and old OS works but new does not. So I have also checked to see if any internet restrictions are switched on under new OS settings but iCloud Private Relay is not on, that I found mentioned before and I can see nothing else (switched off Serfshark -but old OS is happy to run with it on).

I have left this bit to last as I’m sure many will say it is just down to pushing the machine too far. I have moved from 10.15.7 to 13.6.9 using OpenCore-Patcher as running 13.6.9 is not Apple supported - but I’m not having problems with my other programs. It is a 2.6GHz Quad-Core i7 with 16GB memory Mac mini Server (Late 2012).

It would be useful to know that people running 13.6.9 with 1.72.2 and 1.1.13 or 1.1.12 did not have issues generally and it is ‘just me’.

Thanks
Chris

I’m not sure if Zwift support will help given the unsupported OS but you may as well ship log files from the game and launcher to them and see if they can spot anything. You could also review those logs yourself looking for clues.

Thanks I may have a go at that, I noticed the logs in the Documents section. Just seeing if anything obvious came back on 13.6.9 as when I searched nothing of note appeared.

I can always boot from the other disk and get in that way, or use my iPhone - I don’t really want to jump to Apple TV just at the moment as I’d have to buy one.

I’ll leave this going a bit longer - anyone else jumped forward Mac OS and had issues?

Thanks

Just in case anyone else does the same with OpenCore-Patcher. The problem was the post install running of the root patcher - it had not completed fully, I got it to work by running the ‘Build and Install OpenCore’ again. This is not mentioned as being needed, it reloads information to the OS disk that installing the OS has removed - before running the post install root patcher to completion.

Now when Zwift launcher calls the main program it starts as it should.
