How can I join an event during a ride just using my laptop, not via the companion?
I’m sorry to report that joining an event while riding isn’t currently possible. New events only display on the Ride screen in Zwift. As long as you can catch an event to join an hour before it starts, you can join the event and participate in any other event in Zwift before the event begins.

As the event start time approaches, you’ll notice a reminder pop-up where you can select to drop into the event or ignore it and keep riding.
While the companion app does allow new events to be joined, it doesn’t allow that while riding. Even then, you would have to exit freerides, workouts, and events to join.
