So whenever I am doing a custom workout on ZWift in erg mode and whenever I spin 90+ rpm, I start spinning out crazy like there’s no resistance. Now, I like to keep my cadence between 85 and 93. So please tell me why it is happening. I have Wahoo Kickr v6, and I was using the settings called erg power smoothing. In that, I was not facing any issues because the erg power smooth settings keep me extracting on the target watts and show you a clean and straight graph, but I have recently toggled off the setting erg power smoothing because it shows you a fake graph, and in actuality, the power graph naturally goes up and down. But my normal erg mode is on, and I am facing an issue in that whenever I go above 90 rpm, my residence just goes to zero, and I spin out. Can you please tell me the fix.
And I am also sharing the pairing screen of ZWIFT, so please tell me what is the best way to pair your kicker. Incase thats the issue. There are two options, which one should I select?
Depending on the wattage target for your custom workout block, this issue sounds like it could be expected behavior for ERG mode. (See the description of this issue in Wahoo’s Guide to using ERG mode). If you are already meeting the target wattage for a given workout block, resistance will only decrease as your cadence increases.
However, if you are feeling no resistance and are far under your wattage target in ERG mode, this would be a problem. You may want to first check to make sure your trainer is working correctly in its native app. If the issue only occurs in Zwift, please reach out to Zwift Support directly and we can give you some 1:1 support.
As for your pairing choices, the Kickr V6 can pair to Power, Resistance, and Cadence over bluetooth or ANT+. If you are using a Click or Play controllers for virtual shifting, you will need to pair your trainer over bluetooth. If you’re not using virtual shifting, feel free to use either bluetooth or ANT+ to pair your trainer. I just recommend that:
Make sure Power, Resistance, and Cadence are all the same type of pairing choice (don’t split your trainer’s connection between bluetooth and ANT+)
If you pair over ANT+, make sure to select the ANT+ FE-C option.
I have kickr v6 and it’s wireless i have two options ant+ i think that is for wifi and second Bluetooth. And i don’t have FE-c option? Is it important?
You have many options, and you may want to contact Wahoo support for more help. They will respond to you.
ANT+ FE-C is available if you select it. It is highly sensitive to wireless interference due to the short range and where it sits in the wireless spectrum.
Bluetooth is available.
WiFi is available.
DirectConnect via Ethernet is available if you bought the dongle from Wahoo.
