@Diego_Torres1 I have created a new issue for the Zwift work stream to investigate loss of ERG mode (and Cadence) during workout, after a short break when connected through Android version of Zwift Companion.
Great.
Thanks!
Me as well!
Mine was working with whatever the most recent fix that was pushed, appears to have broken today. @Mike.W tagging you here - everything was good with the most recent fix but not working today. Erg, incline mode and free ride don’t respond to changes in workout or elevation.
ETA - got the trainer to respond to changes in incline, but had to completely restart my phone. There is some new, weird behavior - if I am in the pairing screen and close the Zwift companion app, the program still thinks I am connected through the phone but the app is completely closed. I have to restart my phone completely to have erg mode or any incline change.
@Anders_Swanson Your experience with closing and re-opening Zwift companion app seems very much related to my warning in this post: ERG Mode NOT working after latest Update [1.41] [3.47] [June 2023] [SOLVED] - #47
Until we get a fix for this behavior released (and sadly 1.42 does not have it) we recommend not closing/re-launching while at the Pairing Screen. The ZC holding onto devices after being closed is also a known behavior being worked on (seems to be new OS behavior with Android 13).
In the meantime, in general, the fix should continue to work for the normal use case, however, I’ll continue monitoring to see if others are also experiencing this issue again.
Thanks Mike. I did find one fix for this - going into Android app settings and using “Force Stop” on Companion. After that I can re-pair and get resistance. Weirdest bit is that after navigating away from the app I will still get power, but my resistance is locked at whatever grade/setting I was at.
ETA - this is happening if the app is closed at any point in a ride (outside of the pairing screen), or is moved to the “background”. So it may be slightly different than the first issue and more related to the second you describe.
I am suffering the very same but with an iPhone 14 and every app and OS up to date. It is impossible to get ERG engaged if I use companion. Not even restarting every device.
Hi all, i am having same issue, erg mode not working. Starts fine but as soon as I commence the different power intervals, it doesnt work. I slow down and it disables but doesnt engage. Its fristrating LOL.
Hah! Thank you for mentioning this. I was using TR in the past and Zwift as the virtual environment. I’ve gotten into the habit of ensuring “controllable” was disabled in Zwift, and it has defaulted to this often over the past couple years.
Now, I am cancelling TR and sticking with Zwift custome workouts.
Ensuring Controllable was enabled fixed the problem I was becoming fristrated with these past few days.
Thanks again
Hello!
I realize this is an old issue but mine just started doing the same exact thing.
I made sure the firmware was up to date on my trainer (Saris H3) and recalibrated.
I reinstalled the zwift app and still nothing.
I have a MacBook Air
It appears to be connecting just fine to the trainer but it will not enable the ERG though it’s on.
What do I do😩
Thank you!
