This week, we’ve released limited emoji support within the main Zwift app starting in game version 1.98. If you’re not seeing your favorite emoji, this thread may explain why.
The Zwift game app uses the Google emoji library, while Zwift Companion uses the emojis built into iOS or Android. If your favorite emoji doesn’t display correctly in the game chat or Riders Nearby - it may be because that character does not exist in the Google library.
If your missing emoji does exist in the Google library and still does not render correctly in the game app, please let us know by dropping the emoji character in this thread. Thanks!
A correction was made on September 26: An earlier version of this post misstated Openmoji as the character library.
An option to turn the nearby riderslist off would be a good start.
we can turn off the elevation display, pain effect can be turned off, rider highlighting can be turned off, we can now lose the leaderboard somebit, I can filter the language so why not emoticons … ?
yes context is needed but if the emojis are available you know people will use them, cant wait for someone to get a shadow ban for using the middle finger emoji
Just wait for woman to go complain to Zwift for the ‘we can all forsee what emoticons’ they will receive from random riders and Zwift has to put in the manpower to warn/ban all those people.
I am guessing you are right. Ride leaders will hopefully have some brains. I just dont see the point in emoticons.
I have no need to see them, nor do I want/need to see someones indentity, fav fruit, land they support in world conflicts, political flags/symbols, identity flags etc etc …
I doubt it. My guess is we will see lots of flags in names whom the riders support. Ukraine and Palestine, Rainbow flag to name three.
I hope I am wrong and you’re right. But history have proven way to often people cant handle things like this and will ‘abuse’ it. What is wrong with just you first and last name ?
