Downstairs neighbor complaining

My downstairs neighbor complains about vibrations on my Zwift Bride so I decided to buy a couple of 2 cm washing machine thick mats. I want to put one in front and behind Wahoo Kickr core 2.

Do you think is that enough?

I would tell your neighbor that you made a change to try to make it better and ask them if it helped.

Hi @EMANUELE

This is Haziel from Zwift. One of the best ways to reduce vibrations in an apartment setup is to place mats directly under the trainer’s contact points. That way, you’re isolating where the vibration transfers into the floor.

I’d also recommend confirming that your Zwift setup is on a stable, flat surface, since uneven flooring can add extra vibration. If you notice that the vibration feels abnormal, it’s worth checking the frame installation and making sure all adjustable screws are tightened sufficiently.

If you’d like us to investigate your case further, please feel free to contact us directly and share a brief video of your setup. That will help us investigate further and suggest more tailored solutions.

If it doesn’t, get another set of those mats & double them up..

My neighbor did not complain for the last 2 days.

Maybe my mats are working or he just gave up

My downstairs neighbour used to moan about turbo noise too.

I think at least three things reduced the noise and stopped the complaining, without me asking him for feedback…
I swapped from a v1 Direto to a Saris H3 and more recently a Victory
I changed the room I use the turbo in, from ssetting up each time to use in kitchen on a concrete floor(?) above their kitchen next to their living room (initially I used our back room over their living room with bare wooden floor and noise was awful), to permanently setting up the turbo in the bedroom that I presume has a wooden floor underneath the carpet
I bought a “deluxe” turbo mat from PlanetX

I did think about washer mats myself, but the PX mat went on sale just in time.

I also like the kickr bike for being much quieter than the usual trainers with chains and cassettes. It doesn’t have the vibrations that the others tend to get.

Even so mine sits on a rocker plate and those gym flooring tiles.

The washing machine mats look like a great idea. Washing machines can also be pretty noisy depending on the type (mine is Asko with the drum on those huge suspension arms).
