Disable notifications to followers when start zwifiting

I’d like to have an option to block notifications to followers when start zwifting. This is a privacy settings and allow me to not send this information to everyone as set me as favourite.

Not sure why that bothers some of you so much. It’s Zwift, who cares. It’s not like you are telling everyone, that you are not home. Maybe you should unfollow everyone, and make your profile private??
Does that not defeat what Zwift promotes, and allows you to have. (Zwift Community)
I was doing a run this morning, and a Zwift friend went past on his bike. I thought it was great. We said good morning, have a great day. And carried on with our activities :person_shrugging: JMO

Perhaps he doesnt want his boss to know he is Zwifting when he should be working

It is a matter of privacy. I don’t want to tell to everyone that I’m zwifting. I just want to keep an activity entirley private, so no one has to know what I’m doing. At the same time, I want to have followers. Seems to be pretty simple and straight forward.

More privacy protections are better. So I agree with this.

Not that I’d ever use it, but I don’t see the point in snarky remarks about why the user might want to use this.

Yeah dude, you’re missing the forest for the trees here. Following someone on Zwift could be by an individual that you may not want to have know that you’re currently riding.

Okay. Maybe Zwift should have an option to make your activity private. (Like Strava)

I just don’t get it. I don’t feel the need to hide anything from other people. If you have to hide your ride, what else are you hiding. Just my opinion. Have a great day. Ride on

Zwift already does have this option… but it is kind of after the fact in this case. If you favorite someone and have the option enabled to send you notifications when they start riding, it is out of that persons control, so not really private at all. The problem is that you have the ability to see when someone is active, not the other way around. I should have full control of my privacy on Zwift, for whatever my reasons are, that doesn’t matter.

LOL What?
If you hide your ride, what else are you hiding?

Are you implying that Zwifters that want to hide their rides are mass conspiracists or drug dealers?

Again, the point below yours is spot on. Maybe you have coworkers or colleagues that you don’t care to know the you are riding mid day or mid night. All sorts of assumptions can be inferred.

I thought you were able to make your activity private, but obviously not good enough. It should be an easy fix for Zwift.
Take away the ability to see when favorite’s are zwifting. Or take away the ability to favorite someone.
But like I said, many times before. What is the big deal. If I favorite you, and it notifies me that you are zwifting. I don’t think anything. Except, I should give Mike a ride on (a small boost of drops for you). Or maybe,
Wow - Mike is zwifting again. I should really get off my butt, and get some exercise. You would become a motivator.

But not when Mike is Zwifting when he is suppose to be doing something else …

I think, but may be wrong, that Zwift broadcasts you Zwifting as soon as you have logged in (main app, not Companion) rather than when you start a ride. I say that based on connections I see with zero km and power for minutes after joining. Therefore, what you would need is a setting you can access on the CA rather than the platform, since you can open the CA without showing as Zwifting.
