Cycling Weekly Club 10: 3rd March. Wrong Distance?

Was is just me or was this week’s Cycling Weekly 10 not a 10. I rode on to almost 11 miles and still no sign of the finish line so packed. When signing up it did suggest the event was 60+km but assumed this was an error. Looking at the results and times it does seem that a few brave souls rode on for the full 60km. What happened?

CW published an apology for this in the magazine this week. The course was accidentally set to 38 miles instead of 10! Amazingly, nine riders finished it.

Thanks Steve, 38 miles isn’t too bad if that’s what you set out to do, but not when you’re riding at 10 pace, at least for an oldie like me.
Thanks for the response.
