Cycling Level 100, XP, Drops, and Streaks [December 2023]

Blockquote

Love everything new, but I’m really baffled by this reply. Especially the first part gives me the impression that this is the first time you/ zwift heard of the request of cleaning up the garage or at least give pre-settings.

This is literally the most requested feature after every release. Or remark after an announcement of a kit release with some kind of series.

Some are even willing to pay drops to get rid of bikes/ jerseys/ wheels out of their garage

Have you leveled the playing field for people riding in miles vs. kilometers. I have been riding in miles ever since I joined Zwift 6+ years ago. If I had been in kilometers, I would be many levels higher. This should be equal for both standards. Thanks.

I was talking about this specifically:

We are well aware of the broader requests to clean up the garage, don’t worry.

Yes!

We recently updated the xp earned per mile to bring it in line (as best we could) with xp earned per km as part of a previous release.

You can learn more about that here: Balancing XP Earned: Miles vs Kilometers [September 2023]

It’s not. It’s random each time.

Are you still going on about this. :astonished:

I switched over to km for this reason. They lessened the difference a while ago, I don’t remember what it is now, but it’s not the 17% advantage it was, but its still an advantage to be in km. I like to tell myself that I’m helping my brain by having to do conversions all the time and also making me more wordly, lol. Also makes me feel like I’ve ridden farther, I like to simply say “fifty” when my gf asks me how far I rode. She thinks I’m in waaaay better shape than I am now, lol

@Mike_Neff_SCU welcome to Zwift forums.
We made the XP earning for miles more equitable with kilometers in September. See this thread.

“Swap-profiles” Also long requested feature, started since launch of makuri with the start of gravel-bikes. Request were repeated louder around every ZRL-season

Now even more baffled :open_mouth:
(Is feature-request section blocked at Zwift HQ?)

Just 10 sec search to topic below, which is already a consolidated topic of ‘19

Off the top of my head it was 7% advantage and now about 0.6%. I’ve ridden in miles since I joined in 2017 as it’s what has meaning to me, so I’m about 60,000 XP points down on where I would have been in km, but hey ho, doesn’t really bother me.

This one perhaps but anything that affects things like in game cdr or visually affects a race so that participants see different things does have an impact.

Yup, gotta have something to moan about!

Are there plans to make your XP points accumulated more accessible/visible? It’s a pain to start a game session, open the in-game menu, memorize the number of points you have, and find a chart that shows you how close to the next level you are…

I am sure it will make sense when I ride tomorrow… but I wish the new XP system started in the new year after the Rapha Festive 500 as I was using that to get me through to the next level up…

Yep! This feature includes a new Streaks screen at the end of your ride which will show you a clear view of your progress until next level. We’re going to be continually iterating on and improving this experience as well.

I’m glad you’re well aware… especially since this is a relatively simple feature that has requested for years. All we’re asking for is the ability to delete/archive gear we don’t plan on using. Especially since we now have 40 more pieces of kit to acquire, I don’t think this is a big ask. Thanks for the additional levels in the meantime.

One more question. When does Ride Streaks start? First ride after updating? Retroactive this week? Next week? I guess that’s actually four questions…

Weekly Streaks are available as soon as you update to the 1.54 game build (with everyone starting off at 0 today).

They are measured on a calendar week basis - so riding at least once between Monday through Sunday (as determined by your local time zone) - and the game uses the start time of your ride to make all determinations around streaks and Bonus XP.

I don’t think it’ll effect anything Matt.

Really nice to have the progress view back… IE you are level xx you are on accelerated xp until level xx. The increase from 50 to 60 was so confusing!
Nice work Zwift!
