Nice updates. Would love to see more single track, off road courses for mountain bikes. As far as I am aware, there is only one. The quick punching climbs and twists, especially with “steering”, make for a fun challenge to mix things up. Really gets the heart rate going too!
How does the level/XP scaling work for where we are in a level right now? Say I’m at level 49 + 5%, which would be 481,000XP. Obviously I’m not still at 481k XP which would be level 90. Am I still at 49 + 5%, 49 + 1000XP, or something else?
Why is accelerated leveling only for those at level 60 instead of everyone? Don’t really see a point in accelerating higher levels when the steps between levels are so small now.
I just read the Zwift Insider article about levels and drops. Everyone might want to check what’s available at your current level in the drop shop vs. when it will be available after the update. There are some significant changes in some bike frames… The Cannondale EVO goes from level 9 to level 29 and about 3X the drops to buy for example…
Hi, so before the update that added 10 more levels (50 to 60), riders that achieved level 50 way before the 10 added levels were rolled out got the accelerated XP points with each mile/km to get them up to speed on the new level curve. I see that will also happen with this new release of 100 levels. I’ve been at 60 for nearly a year and see that XPs will be at 3x per mile/km … great.
My question is, with continued, dedicated miles each day (after the XPs x3 factor ends for me), will advancing from one level to the next take as long in a 100 level universe as it did in a 60 level one? Or will level progress be faster?

Michael, I’m not sure if this helps (or if correct), but I think the XP acceleration is to fairly promote riders that have already topped out at level 60. These folks have been riding with no chance at leveling up as there wasn’t a level higher. So they keep racking up XPs with no benefit.
With the 40 new levels being added this week, I think Zwift is making it fair for long-time level 60 people to get up to the proper level faster because they were languishing at 60 without level progression. After the x2 or x3 feature gets them to their proper new level faster, then the x2 or x3 benefit (with each mile) would end.
This is what I discovered when they went from 50 to 60 levels. I was at 50 for a while, then they added 10 more, then I got x2 for a couple of weeks, then it ended and I accumulated XPs at the standard rate per mile/km.
For preserving your current progress, we are first looking at your current level and your current percentage of the way towards the next level. We then look at the new level curve table and determine how much XP would be necessary for a brand new player to achieve that same level and percent of the way towards the next level and take the difference of that amount of XP and the current XP you have. This value then is the basis for XP Discounts being applied to how much XP is required to earn your subsequent levels.
This system applies for all current Zwifters, not just those currently at level 60.
It’s not easy to wrap your head around the details of how it works… but at the same time, you have to ask… is there a simpler way Zwift could have done it, while still giving riders the satisfaction of working through levels, and taking advantage of any “banked” XP? I’m not sure there’s a simpler way.
On the plus side… all you have to do is ride. The system works, and tells you what you need to level up. So that part is quite simple.

Is the orange XP bar moving again for you after level 60… great! Here is how much XP you need to get to level 61… great! What else do you really need to know?
50,000 drops each time you cycle through level 100? That doesn’t seem very motivating, since a level 100 cyclist will already have purchased all the good stuff in the drop shop.
